Objective: In the health district of Goundi in Chad, 6.7% of children were affected by acute malnutrition in 2011. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of a locally made ready-to-use therapeutic food (RUTF).

Disseminated histoplasmosis by Histoplasma capsulatum var. duboisii in a paediatric patient from the Chad Republic, Africa.

Histoplasmosis caused by Histoplasma capsulatum var. duboisii is an endemic mycosis of sub-Saharan Africa that usually affects the skin, subcutaneous tissue, lymph nodes and bones. We present a case of a 10-year-old immunocompetent girl with severe cutaneous and subcutaneous abscesses affecting the head and upper body.
