Background And Aims: Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a relatively common disorder that, due to its debilitating nature, significantly affects personal abilities, job performance, social adjustment, and interpersonal relationships. There are significant barriers to accessing evidence-based cognitive-behavioral therapy as a first-line treatment for obsessive-compulsive disorder. Mobile health applications (Apps) offer a promising way to improve access to evidence-based therapies while overcoming these barriers.

Cognitive Maintaining Factors and Social Anxiety: The Mediating Role of Cognitive Fusion and Experiential Avoidance.

Cognitive fusion (CF) and experiential avoidance (EA) are two constructs of acceptance and commitment therapy that contribute to psychological distress. The current study aimed to examine whether CF and EA accounted for variance in the relationships between key cognitive maintaining factors of social anxiety and indicators of social anxiety. This issue was investigated using a longitudinal design in a nonclinical sample.

Challenges of Nurses' Empowerment in the Management of Patient Aggression: A Qualitative Study.

Background: Patients' aggression in the mental care setting is a global health problem with major psychological, physical, and economic consequences; nurse empowerment to manage this aggressive behavior is an important step in psychiatric nursing. The aim of this study was to explore psychiatric nurses' experiences of the challenges of empowerment in the management of patients' aggression.

Materials And Methods: This qualitative study was performed among 20 nurses working in a major referral psychiatric center in Iran during 2014-2016.

Sleep Quality among Patients with Mild Traumatic Brain Injury: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Objective: To evaluate and describe the sleep quality in seven subscales among the patients with mild traumatic brain injury (TBI) and compare it with normal patterns.

Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted within a 6-month period from February to August 2014 in Shahid Rajaei trauma center of Shiraz. Participants were selected randomly from all adult (18-60 years of age) patients admitted during the study period with impression of mild TBI (GCS of more than 13).

An educative support group for female family caregivers: impact on caregivers psychological distress and patient's neuropsychiatry symptoms.

Background: In developing world most patients with dementia live in the community. And female family caregivers are the primary source to delivering care to patients. Educating and supporting the careers may reduce psychological distress and the challenging behavior as well.
