Objective: To investigate phenotypes of comorbidity before and after an epilepsy diagnosis in a national cohort of post-9/11 Service Members and Veterans and explore phenotypic associations with mortality.

Methods: Among a longitudinal cohort of Service Members and Veterans receiving care in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) from 2002 to 2018, annual diagnoses for 26 conditions associated with epilepsy were collected over 5 years, ranging from 2 years prior to 2 years after the year of first epilepsy diagnosis. Latent class analysis (LCA) was used to identify probabilistic comorbidity phenotypes with distinct health trajectories.

DICER1-mutated rhabdomyosarcoma is a rare, emerging entity with a predilection for the gynecologic and genitourinary tracts. We report here a case of DICER1-mutated rhabdomyosarcoma of the ovary in a 14 years old girl which displayed interspersed mature teratoid glands, neuroectodermal rosettes and immature blastematous-like tubes. Morphologically the sarcomatous component predominated, corresponding to a high grade spindle cell rhabdomyosarcoma with botryoid features.

Cognitive functioning impacts clinical symptoms, treatment response, and quality of life in adults with functional/nonepileptic seizures (FS/NES), but no study to date examines effects of behavioral FS/NES treatment on cognition in these patients. Objective: We aimed to prospectively quantify changes in white matter morphology after neurobehavioral therapy (NBT) for functional seizures (FS) using neurite orientation dispersion and density imaging (NODDI). Patients with psychogenic nonepileptic seizures (PNES) represent a distinct, challenging group among those with functional neurologic symptom (conversion) disorders and involve a complex set of symptoms and comorbidities, best evaluated and treated by a multidisciplinary team of clinicians. Multidisciplinary, collaborative care is becoming more common, using evidence-based treatment. Outpatient neurology clinics at sites not currently treating these patients hold potential for providing such a model of care, with coordination of services.
