Purpose: To assess the effect of demineralized cortical fibers (DCF) on postoperative pseudarthrosis requiring revision surgery in patients undergoing pedicle subtraction osteotomy (PSO) for adult spinal deformity (ASD).
Methods: The use of DCF was introduced across all procedures in 2017 and subsequent patients undergoing PSO surgery were prospectively and consecutively registered. Following sample-size estimation, a retrospective cohort was also registered undergoing the same procedure immediately prior to the implementation of DCF.
Acute onset back pain is a common reason for referral to primary health care or emergency departments. In this review, the different spine fracture types are highlighted, and a treatment algorithm is proposed. CT is the modality of choice when a spine fracture is suspected.

Background/aim: We conducted a randomized controlled trial to investigate whether minimally access spine surgery (MASS) is less morbid than open surgery (OS) in patients with metastatic spinal cord compression (MSCC).
Patients And Methods: A total of 49 MSCC patients were included in the trial. The outcome measures were bleeding (L), operation time (min), re-operations and prolonged wound healing.

Background: Pedicle subtraction osteotomy (PSO) is a technically demanding surgery. There is room for development of osteotomy reduction instruments like the one we present in this study, to better guide angular correction and closure of the osteotomy line.
Objective: To present a new surgical instrument that optimizes PSOs of the thoracolumbar spine.
Purpose: To summarise recommendations about 21 selected non-surgical interventions for recent onset (<12 weeks) non-specific neck pain (NP) and cervical radiculopathy (CR) based on two guidelines from the Danish Health Authority.

Materials And Methods: This single-blind, randomized (1:1), controlled, parallel-group, single-center trial was approved by the Danish National Committee on Biomedical Research Ethics and was conducted from May 2011-March 2013. Participants (N = 45) were scheduled for decompression and posterior thoracic/lumbar spinal instrumentation and randomly assigned to either preoperative embolization (n = 23) or a control group (n = 22).

We have used a soluble truncated form of the third domain of the urokinase receptor as a convenient C-terminal fusion partner for various recombinant extracellular human proteins used in basic cancer research. The stability of this cystein-rich domain, which structure adopts a three-finger fold, provides an important asset for its applicability as a fusion tag for expression of recombinant proteins.

Intracellular NADPH concentration was increased two- to ninefold as a result of 13-fold overproduction of 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase.
