Background: This study aimed to develop an organizational typology of Interprofessional Primary Care (IPC) teams in Quebec, Canada, by describing their organizational profiles and assessing the association between the characteristics of the populations served and the organizational profiles.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried out using a finite mixture model of the 2021 financial monitoring data from the Ministry of Health and Social Services of Quebec. The population consisted of all IPC teams in Quebec (N = 368).
Background: Despite sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) and angiotensin receptor/neprilysin inhibitors (ARNi) being cost-effective evidenced-based therapies for the management of Heart Failure with Reduced Ejection Fraction (HFrEF), research shows that less than 30% of patients with HFrEF are prescribed these agents.
Objective: This study aimed to understand clinician-perceived barriers and facilitators to prescribing ARNi and SGLT2i in patients with HFrEF.
Methods: We conducted virtual and in-person semi-structured interviews in a large integrated healthcare delivery system in the United States.
Cellular trafficking between organelles is typically assured by short motifs that contact carrier proteins to transport them to their destination. The ubiquitin E3 ligase RING finger protein 13 (RNF13), a regulator of proliferation, apoptosis and protein trafficking, localizes to endolysosomal compartments through the binding of a dileucine motif to clathrin adaptor protein complex AP-3. Mutations within this motif reduce the ability of RNF13 to interact with AP-3.

Design: We conducted a quasi-experimental pre-post design cohort study and reported indicators for the 21 months before and after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Setting: We used electronic medical record data from primary care clinics enrolled in the Canadian Primary Care Sentinel Surveillance Network from 1 January 2018 to 31 December 2021.
Background: Newer diabetes medications have cardiorenal benefits beyond blood sugar lowering that make them a preferred treatment option in many patients. Despite this, studies have shown that prescribing of these medications remains suboptimal with medication costs being hypothesized as a reason for underutilization.
Objective: To understand clinicians' decision-making processes for prescribing diabetes medications in older adults, focusing on higher cost medications.
Background: Telemonitoring of activities of daily living (ADLs) offers significant potential for gaining a deeper insight into the home care needs of older adults experiencing cognitive decline, particularly those living alone. In 2016, our team and a health care institution in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, sought to test this technology to enhance the support provided by home care clinical teams for older adults residing alone and facing cognitive deficits. The Support for Seniors' Autonomy program (SAPA [Soutien à l'autonomie des personnes âgées]) project was initiated within this context, embracing an innovative research approach that combines action research and design science.

A novel approach to the assessment of the impact of EF difficulties on IADL may be through the speech acts produced when performing IADL-inspired tasks in a laboratory-apartment. Speech acts may act as a window to the difficulties encountered during task performance.

The Public Health Agency of Canada published a Diabetes Framework 2022 which recommends collaborative work across sectors to mitigate the impact of diabetes on health and quality of life. Since 2020, the INMED-COMMUNITY pathway has been implemented in Laval, Québec developing collaboration between healthcare and community sectors through a participatory action research approach.

This led the American Diabetes Association (ADA) to update their guidelines in 2022 to recommend GLP1-RAs and SGLT2is as potential first-line options in patients with cardiorenal conditions. Formulary restrictions, such as step therapy and prior authorizations, can limit access to these beneficial medications.

Surprisingly, few validated and effective interventions specifically target functional outcomes in this population. Redesign your Everyday Activities and Lifestyle with Occupational Therapy [REVEAL(OT)] is a lifestyle-oriented intervention led by occupational therapists that directly targets the daily functional challenges of living with CP.

It aims to improve care transitions between different settings (Family Medicine Groups, home care, and community services) and as such improve the care of people living with dementia and their care partners. Four transition-oriented innovations are targeted.

While some factors such as cost have been suggested, an in-depth analysis of the factors associated with guideline-concordant prescribing is warranted.
Objective: To quantify the extent of guideline-concordant prescribing in an integrated health care delivery system and examine provider and patient level factors that influence guideline-concordant prescribing.
Background: Primary care and other health services have been disrupted during the COVID-19 pandemic, yet the consequences of these service disruptions on patients' care experiences remain largely unstudied. People with mental-physical multimorbidity are vulnerable to the effects of the pandemic, and to sudden service disruptions. It is thus essential to better understand how their care experiences have been impacted by the current pandemic.

Such changes may have longer term implications for population health.
Objective: This study aims to describe the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on indicators of primary care access, comprehensiveness, and appropriateness among adult patients, as well as on specific indictors of chronic conditions.
Importance: Exercise, cognitive training, and vitamin D may enhance cognition in older adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI).
Objective: To determine whether aerobic-resistance exercises would improve cognition relative to an active control and if a multidomain intervention including exercises, computerized cognitive training, and vitamin D supplementation would show greater improvements than exercise alone.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This randomized clinical trial (the SYNERGIC Study) was a multisite, double-masked, fractional factorial trial that evaluated the effects of aerobic-resistance exercise, computerized cognitive training, and vitamin D on cognition.
Introduction: Measuring the performance of interprofessional primary care is needed to examine whether this model of care is achieving its desired outcomes on patient care and health system effectiveness as well as to guide quality improvement initiatives. The aim of this scoping review is to map the literature on primary care performance measurement indicators to determine the extent to which current indicators capture or could be adapted to capture processes, outputs and outcomes that reflect interprofessional primary care.
Methods And Analysis: The review will be guided by the six-stage framework by Arksey and O'Malley (2005).
Design: Analyst blinded, parallel, multi-centre, randomised controlled trial (RCT).
Participants: People with confirmed diagnoses of cancer (head and neck, skin or colorectal) attending follow-up consultation 3 months post-treatment between 2015 and 2020.
Intervention: Holistic needs assessment (HNA) or care as usual during consultation.
Professional assertiveness can enable the healthcare provider to confidently share their expertise without seeming authoritarian to the patient. Professional assertiveness is an interpersonal communication skill that helps express opinions or knowledge while respecting similar competencies in others. For healthcare providers, this compares to sharing scientific or professional knowledge with their patients while respecting their person, ideas, and autonomy.

Originally developed for physicians, it is now relevant to evaluate the model's implementation in more interprofessional practices. We compared AA implementation among family physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses.

Most of these processes, such as ER-stress response and autophagy, have been associated with neuroprotective roles. In fact, improving these mechanisms using S1R agonists was beneficial in several brain disorders including neurodegenerative diseases.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the implementation of a direct-to-consumer on-line pharmacy consultation service (Ask Your Pharmacist - AYP) to a universal phone consultation service led by the universal public health system in Quebec (811 Info-Santé), through a direct bridge. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with clinician users of the service, and stakeholders involved in this pilot project funded by the Ministry of Economy (n = 22); documents were also analyzed, and content of the question was asked through the AYP service.
