Objectives: This investigation aims to analyze the characteristics and development of literature and advocate to include "Somatopsychic" as a Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) term.

Background: The interplay between physiological processes and psychological conditions, commonly referred to as "Somatopsychic," has garnered increasing attention in scientific literature over the years.

Methods: Somatopsychic-related research from the Scopus database using (Text word) and (MeSH) features.

Introduction: The primary concern for women who have experienced peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) is the safety of a subsequent pregnancy (SSP). To maximie decision-making, facilitate effective patient counselling, and ultimately improve maternal and fetal outcomes as a whole, it is critical to comprehend the outcomes of SSP in women who have previously experienced PPCM. This study aimed to evaluate the outcomes of SSP in women with PPCM.

Background: Peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) is a pregnancy-related myocardial disease. PPCM has a high morbidity and mortality rate, but neither partial nor complete recovery is highly probable.

Objective: To analyze global scientific production and identify research hotspots related to PPCM.

Objectives: To describe current nutrition delivery practices and to identify barriers to nutrition in patients receiving venovenous or venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) in multiple centres in Australia and New Zealand.

Design, Setting And Participants: A prospective, multicentre, observational study, set in eight intensive care units in Australia and New Zealand, of adults treated with ECMO who were expected to receive enteral nutrition (EN) or parenteral nutrition (PN) therapy for > 72 hours. Data were collected from the start of ECMO until 7 days after ECMO cessation.

Background: Patients receiving extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) are some of the most critically ill in the intensive care unit. In such patients, malnutrition is associated with increased morbidity and mortality.

Objectives: To describe the use, methods and adequacy of nutritional support in a consecutive group of patients receiving ECMO; to determine differences between the periods during and after ECMO support; and to determine differences in nutritional adequacy between ECMO survivors and ECMO non-survivors.

Background: Excision and primary suture for pilonidal disease is associated with a high rate of wound infection and recurrences. This randomized, controlled study was designed to analyze the effect of local application of a gentamicin-containing collagen sponge (Collatamp(®)) in reducing the wound infection rate and recurrences after excision of pilonidal sinus and wound closure with primary midline suture.

Methods: From March 2003 to November 2005, 161 patients with symptomatic pilonidal disease were operated on at 11 hospitals with traditional wide excision of the sinus and all of its tracts.

Mechanical circulatory support has evolved markedly over recent years. ECMO (extra corporeal membrane oxygenation) is instituted for the management of life threatening pulmonary or cardiac failure (or both), when no other form of treatment has been or is likely to be successful. Most commonly, it is instituted in an emergency or urgent situation after failure of other treatment modalities.

Background: Intense and rapidly changing mood states are a major feature of borderline personality disorder (BPD), which is thought to arise from affective vulnerability.

Objective: There have been only a few studies investigating affective processing in BPD, and particularly neither psychophysiological nor neurofunctional correlates of abnormal emotional processing have been identified so far.

Methods: Studies are reported using psychophysiological or functional neuroimaging methodology.

Background: Criminal offenders with a diagnosis of psychopathy or borderline personality disorder (BPD) share an impulsive nature but tend to differ in their style of emotional response. This study aims to use multiple psychophysiologic measures to compare emotional responses to unpleasant and pleasant stimuli.

Methods: Twenty-five psychopaths as defined by the Hare Psychopathy Checklist and 18 subjects with BPD from 2 high-security forensic treatment facilities were included in the study along with 24 control subjects.

The aim of this study was to assess psychophysiological affect correlates, in addition to the usual self-report in borderline personality disorder (BPD) compared with avoidant personality disorder (APD) and normal controls (NCs), when responding to standardized experimental stimuli. In 24 BPD female patients, 23 APD female patients, and 27 female NCs, skin conductance response (SCR), heart rate (HR) change, and startle response were recorded while the subjects viewed slides with emotional content. Neither the self-report nor the psychophysiological data supported the hypothesis that affective responses of BPD individuals are generally stronger than those with APD.

Relaxin is secreted during pregnancy, but it has no verified effects in humans. The objective of the present study was to identify the cells containing specific relaxin-binding sites in the uterine cervix, vagina, uterus, mammary glands, mammary nipples, and term placenta in the human. The uterine cervix, vagina, and uterus were obtained from hysterectomy specimens.

Dermal angiosarcoma is a rare complication of radiotherapy. It is characterized by an aggressive nature and is distinct from other forms of angiosarcoma in that it does not always present with chronic lymphedema. A few case reports have appeared of cutaneous angiosarcoma arising in women previously treated with breast-conserving treatment and radiation for breast cancer.

It is known that depending on the manufacturing and synthetic processes, drugs may exist as different forms. As a result, physicochemical properties, compression characteristics, intrinsic dissolution and bioavailability may vary substantially. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of different sources of ibuprofen on the processing of tablets and on their properties.

Over 720 persons are reported to have died jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge. A review of 100 consecutive autopsies showed that, in the majority of cases, massive pulmonary contusion, pneumothorax, laceration or perforation of the heart, great vessels, or lungs by displaced ribs were the causes of immediate death. Irreparable fractures of the liver or spleen were the most common abdominal injuries.

Sodium dichloroacetate, a potential antidote for lactic acidosis, was administered intravenously to rats, dogs, and four humans. In three rats, maximum plasma sodium dichloroacetate concentrations were 120-164 microgram/ml after a 100-mg/kg dose and declined with half-lives of 2.1-4.

Sulfinpyrazone (Anturane), which inhibits platelet synthesis of prostaglandins and platelet release of serotonin, was given to patients with chronic renal failure requiring hemodialysis. Patients were mateched in double-blind fashion to receive either placebo or sulfinpyrazone at 200 mg orally three times a day. Peak plasma levels of sulfinpyrazone after the first 200-mg dose ranged from 6.

Derivatization of hydralazine in plasma under acidic conditions yields values for the concentrations of "apparent" hydralazine that are dependent on the pH in the derivatization step. The results have been explained by postulating the existence of acid-hydrolyzable conjugates of unknown structure. These metabolites appear to be present in rat and human plasma after oral dosing.
