Chemotherapy and radiotherapy (chemo-/radiotherapy) have advanced as the main treatment modalities for nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), improving patient survival rates. However, chemo-/radiotherapy resistance in NPC cells has emerged as a key factor contributing to poor prognosis. Recently, competing endogenous RNA networks (ceRNETs) have garnered attention for their potential clinical value in studying chemo-/radiotherapy resistance.

Magnesium, an indispensable trace element, is essential to the preservation of cardiac integrity. However, the association between magnesium supplementation and mortality in HFpEF patients remains unclear.

However, whether such regional specifications in interneurons are intrinsically encoded or gained through interactions with the local milieu remains elusive. Here, we recruit 685,692 interneurons from cerebral cortex and subcortex including ganglionic eminence within the developing human and macaque species.

However, most Te-free thermoelectrics have relatively low performance because of the strong electrical and thermal transport conflicts and unsatisfactory compatibility of interfaces between device materials. Here, we develop lattice defect engineering through Cu doping to realize a record-high figure of merit of ~1.

Cancers of the digestive system are major contributors to global cancer-associated morbidity and mortality, accounting for 35% of annual cases of cancer deaths. The etiologies, molecular features, and therapeutic management of these cancer entities are highly heterogeneous and complex. Over the last decade, genomic and functional studies have provided unprecedented insights into the biology of digestive cancers, identifying genetic drivers of tumor progression and key interaction points of tumor cells with the immune system.

Addressing the urgent need for thermal management promotes the development of solid-state electrocaloric cooling. However, enhancing passive heat dissipation through two-dimensional materials in electrocaloric polymers typically compromises the electrocaloric effect.

Herein, we formulated a multifunctional DNA sandwich nanodevice, DSWAC/siPD-L1, based on triangular DNA origami, to implement enhanced cancer chemo-immunotherapy. Taking advantage of the tumor-targeting ability of the AS1411 aptamer, DSWAC/siPD-L1 efficiently delivered doxorubicin (DOX), CpG, and siPD-L1 into tumor cells.

In the current study, we performed an in-depth investigation of the protective effects of epicatechin on EMB-induced liver injury in common carps. The carps were cultured in an aquatic environment containing 2.

In the tumor microenvironment, itaconate is concentrated and induces an immunosuppressive response. However, whether itaconate can be taken up by tumor cells and its mechanism of action remain largely unclear.

However, the underlying mechanisms and regulators remain unclear. Here, by performing allelic transcriptome analysis on human preimplantation embryos, we accurately quantified MZT progression by allelic ratio and identified a fraction of 8-cell embryos, at the appropriate developmental time point and exhibiting normal morphology, were in transcriptionally arrested status.

Methods: A bibliometric analysis was conducted using data from the Web of Science Core Collection. The study examined publication trends, author contributions, institutional collaborations, keyword co-occurrence, and citation patterns, employing CiteSpace software to analyze key metrics such as publication frequency, centrality, and clustering.
Background And Aims: Histologic studies indicated that healed plaque, characterized by a multilayered pattern, is indicative of prior atherothrombosis and subsequent healing. However, longitudinal in vivo data on healed plaque formation in non-culprit plaques are limited. This study aimed to investigate serial changes and clinical significance of new layered pattern formation in non-culprit plaques in patients with acute coronary syndromes (ACS) using serial optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging.

Now, smartphone technology is redefining how tests are conducted at the point of use. At the same time, quick response (QR) codes enhance digital connectivity for information transmission, data collection, and response linkage.

This study is a post hoc analysis of the GAZAI trial data to evaluate the impact of FDG-PET/CT versus computed tomography (CT) alone on radiation target volumes for involved-site radiotherapy (IS-RT) in early-stage follicular lymphoma (FL).
Methods: All patients in the GAZAI trial underwent pretherapeutic FDG-PET/CT examinations, which were subject to central quality control.
Background: Non-human primates (NPHs), such as rhesus macaques, cynomolgus monkeys, and Assamese macaques, play a crucial role in biomedical research. However, baseline cytokine and electrolyte data for these three species, particularly data stratified by age and sex, are limited. Therefore, the aim of this study was to establish and analyze age- and sex-specific cytokine and electrolyte profiles in these three species.

Using machine learning-accelerated density functional theory and rare-event methods, in conjunction with environmental transmission electron microscopy (ETEM), we examine the interplay between surface reconstructions and preferential segregation tendencies of CuNi(100) surfaces under oxidation conditions. Our modeling approach predicts that oxygen-induced Ni segregation in CuNi alloys favors Cu(100)-O c(2 × 2) reconstruction and destabilizes the Cu(100)-O (2√2 × √2)45° missing row reconstruction (MRR).

Aim: To evaluate the associations between breastfeeding and lung function among children without known respiratory diseases and to determine the effects of breastfeeding on spirometry.
Methods: A systematic search of PubMed, Embase and Cochrane was performed from their inception to 11 Oct 2023 (PROSPERO identifier: CRD42023471664). Observational studies (cohort or cross-sectional or case-control design) and randomised controlled trials (RCTs) were searched.
Background: Although the information on the validation status of electronic sphygmomanometer (ES) devices in use in health care institutions and households is much more clinically relevant than that of ES models available on the market, it remains insufficient.
Methods: A national survey was conducted across all administrative regions of mainland China to assess the validation status of ESs. Fifty-eight cities were selected with stratification by municipality, provincial capital, and other cities, and health care institutions and households in each city were chosen by convenience to identify ES devices in use according to the study protocol.

Osteoporosis (OP) is a systemic skeletal disorder characterized by decreased bone mineral density and a heightened risk of fractures. Therapies for OP have primarily focused on balancing bone formation and bone resorption, but enhancing the remineralization of osteoporotic bone is also a key strategy for effective repair. Recent insights into biomineralization mechanisms have highlighted the essential role of mineral-containing extracellular vesicles (EVs) secreted by osteoblasts in promoting bone marrow mesenchymal stromal/stem cell (BMSC) differentiation and initiating matrix mineralization.
