Introduction: The urgency to replace the propellants currently in use with the new sustainable ones has given rise to the need for investigation and reformulation of pMDIs.

Areas Covered: The reformulation requires in-depth knowledge of the physico-chemical characteristics of the new propellants, which impact the atomization capacity and the plume geometry. Among the investigated propellants, HFA 152a, due to its lower vapor pressure and higher surface tension compared to HFA 134a, deliver larger particles and has a higher solvent capacity toward lipophilic drugs.

Our goal was to determine the diagnostic utility of point-of-care ultrasound (PoCUS) for inferior vena cava (IVC) size and collapsibility in predicting a volume overload fluid status in spontaneously breathing hypotensive ED patients.

Introduction: Gonorrhea, caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae (NG), is the second most common bacterial sexually transmitted infection (STI). Rates of antimicrobial resistance to standard care are increasing worldwide, with many antibiotic classes now ineffective against NG. Invariant natural killer T cells are a rare, heterogeneous T-cell subset with cytotoxic and immunomodulatory properties. During thymic development, murine invariant natural killer T cells go through different maturation stages differentiating into distinct sublineages, namely, invariant natural killer T1, 2, and 17 cells. Recent reports indicate that invariant natural killer T2 cells display immature properties and give rise to other subsets, whereas invariant natural killer T1 cells seem to be terminally differentiated.

Background: During a program review, faculty identified that nurse practitioner (NP) students who received a C grade in Advanced Pathophysiology (Patho) and Advanced Pharmacology (Pharm) appeared to perform poorly in the later NP management courses and on other program outcomes.

Opioid craving and relapse vulnerability is associated with severe and persistent sleep and circadian rhythm disruptions. Understanding the neurobiological underpinnings of circadian rhythms and opioid use disorder (OUD) may prove valuable for developing new treatments for opioid addiction. Previous work indicated molecular rhythm disruptions in the human brain associated with OUD, highlighting synaptic alterations in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) and nucleus accumbens (NAc)-key brain regions involved in cognition and reward, and heavily implicated in the pathophysiology of OUD.

Non-invasive imaging of tumors expressing reporter transgenes is a popular preclinical method for studying tumor development and response to therapy due to its ability to distinguish signal from tumors over background noise. Importance: Individuals with schizophrenia (SZ) exhibit pronounced deficits in somatostatin (SST) messenger RNA (mRNA) levels in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC). Molecularly distinct subtypes of SST neurons, located in the superficial and deep zones of the DLPFC, are thought to contribute to different functional processes of this region; understanding the specificity of SST alterations in SZ across these zones could inform the functional consequences of those alterations, including cognitive impairments characteristic of SZ.

A test of CP invariance in Higgs boson production via vector-boson fusion has been performed in the H→γγ channel using 139  fb^{-1} of proton-proton collision data at sqrt[s]=13  TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. The optimal observable method is used to probe the CP structure of interactions between the Higgs boson and electroweak gauge bosons, as described by an effective field theory. No sign of CP violation is observed in the data.
