Purpose: To investigate the clinical feasibility of a CT collateral map compared with an MRA collateral map, focusing on collateral perfusion (CP) estimation and baseline lesion assessment in acute ischemic stroke (AIS).
Materials And Methods: This retrospective analysis used selected data from a prospectively collected database. We generated CT collateral maps derived from CT perfusion, encompassing images of arterial, capillary, early venous (CMEV), late venous, and delay phases.
Introduction: Despite kidney stone disease (KSD) guidelines, high-quality evidence for KSD management in Canada is lacking. We aimed to assess Canadian urologists' practice patterns, preferences, and barriers in managing KSD.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey was distributed to Canadian urologists via the Canadian Urological Association (CUA), Quebec Urological Association (QUA), and Canadian Endourology Group (CEG), as well as directly to urology departments nationwide.
Introduction: Robotic-assisted surgery (RAS) is a vital modality in the armamentarium of minimally invasive surgeons. The HugoTM RAS system (Medtronic) is one of the newest platforms on the market and has little surgical outcomes data. We describe our early experience performing robotic-assisted partial nephrectomy (RAPNx) with the Hugo RAS platform.

Methods: Two online surveys were developed from a scoping review of CBME literature and expert consultation.
A Zn-coordinated porphyrinic artificial solid-electrolyte interphase (αSEI) layer, named [Zn]PP-4COO-(Zn), was developed to improve the reversibility of zinc metal plating/stripping in aqueous zinc-ion batteries (ZIBs). Inspired by nitrogen-terminating sites of biological molecules coordinating and transporting zinc in zinc metabolic processes, the αSEI layer was designed with zinc ions connecting porphyrinic building blocks to form two-dimensional clathrate sheets and stacking -plane sheets along the -axis to allow N cages to align and form porphyrinic N channels for zinc transport. The [Zn]PP-4COO-(Zn) αSEI layer was Zn-conductive and structurally durable during repeated stripping/plating.

Therefore, although well-demonstrated using various abdominal imaging modalities, radiologists tend to be less familiar with splenic diseases, making interpretation challenging. This study aimed to review common and uncommon splenic diseases and illustrate the multimodal imaging (including ultrasonography, CT, MRI, and PET/CT) features of these lesions in correlation with their histopathology.

AS is generally recommended for tumors measuring ≤1 cm without aggressive cytological subtypes, risk of gross extrathyroidal extension (ETE), lymph node metastasis (LNM), or distant metastasis. AS requires careful patient selection based on various patient and tumor characteristics, and ultrasound (US) findings.

This study focuses on the unique ability of atomically bridged indium (In) atoms that encourages inactive SnS surface and steer the selective HMF oxidation process under solar light. Experimental results suggest that In confined SnS structure provides not only favorable sites and electronic structures for the synergistic activation of HMF/O but also benefit in charge carrier dynamics, thus influencing the overall activity and selectivity of the SnS catalyst.

Spondylocarpotarsal synostosis syndrome (SCTS) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by vertebral fusion, short stature, and skeletal anomalies. SCTS is primarily associated with mutations in filamin B. However, in this report, we present a unique case of SCTS in a 28-year-old male who complained of neck and shoulder pain persisting for 1 year.

A significant portion of newly diagnosed lung cancer cases occur in populations exposed to air pollution. The World Health Organization has identified air pollution as a human carcinogen, prompting many countries to implement monitoring systems for ambient particulate matter (PM). PM consists of a complex mix of organic and inorganic particles, both solid and liquid, present in the air.

The current 2024 guideline, developed by the Korean Society of Endometriosis (KSE), builds upon the 2018 KSE guideline. This guideline aims to provide customized recommendations tailored to Korea's unique clinical aspects and medical environment, and addresses key areas such as diagnosis, medical and surgical management, considerations for special populations, and its complex relationship with cancer.

Memristors, the backbone of neuromorphic processors, retain their state after programming without static power consumption. Among them, electro-optic memristors are of great interest, as they enable dual electrical-optical functionality that bridges the efficiency of electronics and the bandwidth of photonics.

Materials And Methods: This multi-center retrospective study included 11,246 patients (mean age ± standard deviation, 50 ± 13 years; 7139 men) who underwent CT and dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) in six health-screening centers between 2022 and 2023. Using deep-learning-based software, attenuation values of L1 vertebral bodies were measured.
Aim: Although various sphincter-preserving techniques exist for treating anal fistulas, none have demonstrated clear superiority. Therefore, the aim of this study was to introduce a novel sphincter-preserving technique for anal duct ligation and muscle closure (ALMC) and analyse its perioperative outcomes.
Method: The data for patients who underwent ALMC for fistula-in-ano at Seoul Song Do Hospital between 2009 and 2023 were retrospectively reviewed.
This study assessed the accuracy and reliability of artificial intelligence (AI)-reconstructed images of two-dimensional (2D) lateral cephalometric analyses of facial computed tomography (CT) images, which is widely used for the diagnosis of craniofacial deformities and in the planning of their treatment. Facial CT datasets from 40 patients were collected. Original 1 mm slices were reformatted to 3 mm, and then an AI algorithm reconstructed the 3 mm slices and converted them back to 1 mm to generate lateral cephalometric images.

Endocrine-disrupting compounds (EDCs), such as butylparaben (BP), which are used as preservatives in food and cosmetics, have been shown to negatively affect male reproductive health. Organs under the control of hormones such as androgens and estrogens, such as the prostate, are vulnerable to EDC stimulation. It is well known that BP can cause hormonal imbalances in the prostate and lead to various prostate diseases.

The human body contains approximately 100 trillion microorganisms, predominantly within the gastrointestinal tract, collectively called the gut microbiota. Investigations have revealed the bidirectional communication between the gut microbiota and the brain, characterized as the "microbiota-gut-brain axis." This axis represents an important regulator of brain development and function, immune system development, and nutrient metabolism, making it a target for efforts to alleviate the development and progression of neurodegenerative diseases (NDDs).
