Artificial Intelligence (Al) models are being produced and used to solve a variety of current and future business and technical problems. Therefore, AI model engineering processes, platforms, and products are acquiring special significance across industry verticals. For achieving deeper automation, the number of data features being used while generating highly promising and productive AI models is numerous, and hence the resulting AI models are bulky.

Racial Disparities in Severe Maternal Morbidity in an Integrated Health Care System, Southern California, 2008-2017.

Objective: The study's objectives were to examine rates of severe maternal morbidity (SMM) over a 10-year period and assess racial/ethnic disparities in SMM among insured women in a large, integrated health care system in Southern California.

Methods: We included Kaiser Permanente Southern California (KPSC) health plan members who gave birth at ≥20 weeks' gestation in a KPSC-owned hospital during 2008-2017. An SMM case was defined as presence of one or more indicators of an SMM event during a birth hospitalization, identified using maternal electronic health records.

The optimal force applied during ligament balancing in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is not well understood. We quantified the effect of increasing distraction force on medial and lateral gaps throughout the range of knee motion, both prior to and after femoral resections in tibial-first gap-balancing TKA. Twenty-five consecutive knees in 21 patients underwent robotic-assisted TKA.

Cancer treatment induces neuroinflammation and behavioral deficits in mice.

Cancer survivors are increasingly diagnosed with a syndrome of neurocognitive dysfunction termed cancer-related cognitive impairment (CRCI). Chemotherapy and radiation therapy have been implicated in CRCI; however, its underlying pathogenesis remains unclear, hindering effective prevention or treatment. We used the hairless strain SKH1 (11-12-week-old) and treated the mice with radiation to the right hindlimb, doxorubicin (a chemotherapy agent), concurrent radiation, and doxorubicin, or no treatment (control).

Long non-coding RNAs: definitions, functions, challenges and recommendations.

Genes specifying long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) occupy a large fraction of the genomes of complex organisms. The term 'lncRNAs' encompasses RNA polymerase I (Pol I), Pol II and Pol III transcribed RNAs, and RNAs from processed introns. The various functions of lncRNAs and their many isoforms and interleaved relationships with other genes make lncRNA classification and annotation difficult.

Separated parents' experiences with the Australian school system: an overview.

For decades, the role of parental engagement in children's schooling has been central to the promotion of learning and wellbeing outcomes for children. However, the recognition of diverse family structures, including where a child's parents are separated, is largely absent from these models of engagement. Instead, prior research has focussed on the impacts of separation and divorce on children's learning, resulting in a dearth of work on separated parents' experiences of engaging with their children's schools.

Placement Architectures in Practice: An Exploration of Student Learning during Non-Traditional Work-Integrated Learning in Rural Communities.

Background: Work-integrated learning (WIL) in rural communities provides students with important learning opportunities while also providing a service to those communities. To optimise the potential benefits of work-integrated learning for health students and rural communities it is important to explore the practices and outcomes of these experiences.

Methods: This study used a qualitative research design underpinned by the theoretical framework of Theory of Practice Architectures to examine the way students learn during these placements.

Understanding Youth Athlete Motivation, Training, and Activity Progression During and After the COVID-19 Sports Interruption.

Background: COVID-19 restrictions created a period of disrupted sports participation for youth athletes. The physical conditioning, sports training habits, and patterns of sports activity resumption upon returning to normal sports activity are currently unknown.

Purpose/hypothesis: This study aimed to determine the extent to which youth athletes maintained their training levels during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic and understand the strategies that enhanced motivation and adherence to a training regimen while in isolation.

Management and environmental factors influence the prevalence and abundance of food-borne pathogens and commensal bacteria in peanut hull-based broiler litter.

In this study, we conducted a longitudinal sampling of peanut hull-based litter from a farm under a "no antibiotics ever" program. Our objective was to determine broiler management practices and environmental factors that are associated with the occurrence of food-borne pathogens (Salmonella and Campylobacter) and the abundance of commensal bacteria (Escherichia coli, Enterococcus spp., and Staphylococcus spp.

Effects of COVID-19 Pandemic on Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision Services for HIV Prevention, Sub-Saharan Africa, 2020.

Beginning in March 2020, to reduce COVID-19 transmission, the US President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief supporting voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) services was delayed in 15 sub-Saharan African countries. We reviewed performance indicators to compare the number of VMMCs performed in 2020 with those performed in previous years. In all countries, the annual number of VMMCs performed decreased 32.

Percutaneous Decommissioning 11 Years After Initial CF-LVAD Placement.

An 80-year-old man with severe nonischemic cardiomyopathy status post left ventricular assist device (LVAD) placement 11 years prior presented for recurrent LVAD alarms from internal driveline fracture. Given his partial myocardial recovery and his preference to avoid surgical procedures, percutaneous LVAD decommissioning was performed by occlusion of the outflow graft and subsequently driveline removal. ().

Secondary Infertility due to Fetal Bone Retention A systematic literature review.

Prolonged intrauterine retention of fetal bones during an abortion procedure can lead to secondary infertility. This review aimed to raise awareness among obstetric/gynaecologists about the possibility of this condition. A total of 17 case reports, seven case series and one retrospective study were included in this review, with 75 patients in total.

Unlabelled: Little consensus exists on the best method for evaluation and management of pediatric medial epicondyle fractures because of an inability to reliably evaluate fracture displacement with standard imaging techniques. This study aimed to determine the performance of various radiographic views in evaluating displaced medial epicondyle fractures when using a standardized measurement methodology.

Methods: Ten fellowship-trained pediatric orthopaedic surgeons assessed fracture displacement in 6 patients with displaced medial epicondyle fractures using radiographic views (anteroposterior, lateral, axial, internal oblique [IO], and external oblique [EO]) and computed tomographic (CT) views (axial, 3-dimensional [3D] horizontal, and 3D vertical).

Due to the rise in vehicular emissions, the rapid deterioration of the atmospheric air quality is a cause for concern in a global scale. In this context, the objective of this study is to explore the effect of post-injection parameters on a continuous active regeneration trap (CART) to mitigate harmful greenhouse gases (GHG) and particulate smoke emissions (PSE) using diesel fuel reformulated by long-chain microalgae bio-alcohol and low-density microalgae biodiesel. Furthermore, the efficiency of the CART unit is analyzed based on its ability to mitigate the harmful emissions without sacrificing the engine performance characteristics.

Association Between Racial Wealth Inequities and Racial Disparities in Longevity Among US Adults and Role of Reparations Payments, 1992 to 2018.

Importance: In the US, Black individuals die younger than White individuals and have less household wealth, a legacy of slavery, ongoing discrimination, and discriminatory public policies. The role of wealth inequality in mediating racial health inequities is unclear.

Objective: To assess the contribution of wealth inequities to the longevity gap that exists between Black and White individuals in the US and to model the potential effects of reparations payments on this gap.

Reliability of Radiographic Imaging Characteristics for Osteochondritis Dissecans of the Capitellum.

Background: A primary challenge in the treatment of capitellar osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) is accurate imaging assessment. Radiographic classification consensus is not available in the current literature, and correlation of radiographs with lesion stability and resultant best treatment is lacking.

Purpose: To determine the inter- and intrarater reliability of the presence or absence and common radiographic characteristics of capitellar OCD lesions.

Team debriefing in the COVID-19 pandemic: a qualitative study of a hospital-wide clinical event debriefing program and a novel qualitative model to analyze debriefing content.

Background: Healthcare workers faced unique challenges during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic which necessitated rapid adaptation. Clinical event debriefings (CEDs) are one tool that teams can use to reflect after events and identify opportunities for improving their performance and their processes. There are few reports of how teams have used CEDs in the COVID-19 pandemic.
