Participants: Thirty-eight students in a public university system in New York City (NYC) purposively selected from neighborhoods highly affected by the pandemic based on level of self-reported impact.

Methods: We conducted virtual in-depth interviews from May to August 2021 and analyzed data using thematic coding and constant comparison techniques informed by grounded theory.

In two soil incubation experiments we examined the performance of the P solubilizing fungus Penicillium aculeatum in non-sterile and semi-sterile (γ-irradiated) soil with different C and P sources. Results from the first experiment with C sources showed that starch and cellulose generally improved P solubilization by P.

Stimulation of monocytes with immunomodulating agents can harness the immune system to treat a long range of diseases, including cancers, infections and autoimmune diseases. To this end we aimed to develop a monocyte-targeting delivery platform based on cationic liposomes, which can be utilized to deliver immunomodulators and thus induce monocyte-mediated immune responses while avoiding off-target side-effects. The cationic liposome design is based on functionalizing the liposomal membrane with a cholesterol-anchored tri-arginine peptide (TriArg).

Gettering in PolySi/SiO Passivating Contacts Enables Si-Based Tandem Solar Cells with High Thermal and Contamination Resilience.

Multijunction solar cells in a tandem configuration could further lower the costs of electricity if crystalline Si (c-Si) is used as the bottom cell. However, for direct monolithic integration on c-Si, only a restricted number of top and bottom cell architectures are compatible, due to either epitaxy or high-temperature constraints, where the interface between subcells is subject to a trade-off between transmittance, electrical interconnection, and bottom cell degradation. Using polySi/SiO passivating contacts for Si, this degradation can be largely circumvented by tuning the polySi/SiO stacks to promote gettering of contaminants admitted into the Si bottom cell during the top cell synthesis.

Method: We developed a diagnostic interview for depression: the CORE Diagnostic Interview, CORE-DI, which assesses each of the core features of depression on the four dimensions: quality, reactivity, globality, and fluctuations over time.

Acute myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock (AMICS) comprises a heterogeneous population with high mortality. Insight in timing and cause of death may improve understanding of the condition and aid individualization of treatment. This was assessed in a retrospective, multicenter observational cohort study based on 1,716 patients with AMICS treated during the period of 2010 to 2017, of whom 904 died before hospital discharge.
