Abnormal α-synuclein deposition occurs early in the neurodegenerative process across the central and peripheral nervous systems and might precede the appearance of motor symptoms and cognitive decline by several decades. Methods: We retrospectively reconstructed a representative cohort of patients diagnosed with SHE according to international diagnostic criteria, sleep-related seizures ≥75% and follow-up ≥5 years. Terminal remission (TR) was defined as a period of ≥5 consecutive years of seizure freedom at the last follow-up.
Objective: To evaluate the predictive value of stridor and its latency of onset and to investigate the role of stridor treatment in a cohort of patients with multiple system atrophy (MSA) referred to a tertiary center.
Methods: We retrospectively identified patients diagnosed with MSA referred to our department beginning in 1991 and evaluated at least yearly during the disease course. Stridor was defined as present when confirmed by a whole night video-polysomnography and as early if presenting within 3 years of disease onset.
The syndrome known as nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy is recognized worldwide and has been studied in a wide range of clinical and scientific settings (epilepsy, sleep medicine, neurosurgery, pediatric neurology, epidemiology, genetics). Though uncommon, it is of considerable interest to practicing neurologists because of complexity in differential diagnosis from more common, benign sleep disorders such as parasomnias, or other disorders like psychogenic nonepileptic seizures. Moreover, misdiagnosis can have substantial adverse consequences on patients' lives.

Walking and paddling motions were studied in a semiaquatic bird, the ringed teal (Callonetta leucophrys), to investigate the motions associated with movements in two environments with radically divergent physical properties. A three-dimensional (3D) kinematic reconstruction based on nonsynchronous biplanar cineradiographic data was used to quantify the 3D trajectories of the body and hind limb segments.
