The model describes stem and progenitor cell dynamics in the small intestinal epithelium and integrates heterogeneous epithelial-related processes, such as transcriptional profiles, citrulline kinetics, and probability of diarrhea. We fitted a mouse-specific version of the model to quantify doxorubicin and 5-fluorouracil (5-FU)-induced toxicity, which included pharmacokinetics and 5-FU metabolism and assumed that both drugs led to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in stem cells and proliferative progenitors.

Materials And Methods: Transarterial chemoembolization was performed in woodchucks with hepatocellular carcinoma (N = 5) using DEBs (70-150 μm, LC Bead LUMI) loaded with doxorubicin. Livers were resected 45 minutes after embolization, immediately frozen, and cut using liver-specific, 3D-printed sectioning molds.
Bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) is caused primarily by oxidative stress and inflammation. To induce BPD, neonatal rat pups were raised in hyperoxic (>90% O) environments from day one (P1) until day ten (P10) and treated with N-acetyl-lysyltyrosylcysteine amide (KYC). In vivo studies showed that KYC improved lung complexity, reduced myeloperoxidase (MPO) positive (+) myeloid cell counts, MPO protein, chlorotyrosine formation, increased endothelial cell CD31 expression, decreased 8-OH-dG and Cox-1/Cox-2, HMGB1, RAGE, TLR4, increased weight gain and improved survival in hyperoxic pups.

We conferred endothelial NOS activity onto adrenal ZG cells through transduction with a recombinant adenovirus encoding the endothelial NOS gene (AdeNOS) to determine the effect of endogenous NO on aldosterone synthesis. A 135-kDa protein band immunoreactive to anti-endothelial NOS antibody was observed in Western blots of AdeNOS-transduced ZG cells but not in control cells or cells transduced with adenovirus encoding the beta-galactosidase gene (AdbetaGal).
