Background: Allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT) is a disease-modifying therapy and is effective to reduce the symptoms of grass pollen-allergy. The airway epithelium of these patients releases inflammatory mediators including type-2 cytokines, which are associated with cellular processes involved in the symptomatic response of the affected tissue. Aim of the study was to identify epithelial biomarkers indicating AIT progress.

- Eight patients were monitored over an average of 33 months using various imaging techniques to assess retinal and choroidal inflammation, with significant improvements noted in retinal inflammation and central retinal thickness (CRT) after six months.
- While TCZ effectively reduced retinal vasculitis and improved CRT, it was less effective for choroidal inflammation, indicating a need for further research to optimize TCZ treatment in NIU patients.
To longitudinally investigate the impact of best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), non-modifiable risk factors, modifiable habits, and disease course on the vision-related quality of life (VRQOL) of patients with central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR). We longitudinally enrolled 109 CSCR patients and 42 non-diseased control participants from our clinic. In addition to clinical examination, the National Eye Institute Visual Function Questionnaire (NEI-VFQ-39) was employed for assessments, along with questions pertaining to various aspects of lifestyle habits.
