Objectives: Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) may be well positioned to facilitate dental visits during pregnancy for low-income women. We sought to compare receipt of dental visits during pregnancy for women who received prenatal care at an FQHC versus a non-FQHC setting.

Dental hygienists (DHs) are well positioned to be part of primary care teams to increase access to oral health care, particularly for those who encounter barriers to oral care, such as pregnant people. The Michigan Initiative for Maternal and Infant Oral Health (MIMIOH) integrates DHs into obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) clinics in federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) to improve pregnant people's oral health. Evaluation of the MIMIOH program revealed that selecting DHs with personal characteristics desirable for integrated-care delivery was a major factor for successfully integrating DHs into OB/GYN clinics.

Objectives: The only medication used sublingually in the neonate is buprenorphine for the treatment of neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS). Compared with morphine, buprenorphine reduces the length of treatment and length of hospitalization in neonates treated for NAS. Bone morphogenetic proteins have been shown to increase matrix synthesis by articular chondrocytes in short-term cultures. Members of this family of proteins have also been shown to induce endochondral ossification in vivo. The present study was performed to determine if the addition of human recombinant bone morphogenetic protein-2 to a long-term monolayer articular chondrocyte cell culture system affected the ability of the chondrocytes to divide in vitro, whether the cytokine altered expression of the articular chondrocyte phenotype and synthesis of matrix proteoglycans, and whether the cytokine was capable of inducing differentiation to a hypertrophic chondrocyte.
