Intelligent Hierarchical Targeting Near-Infrared Persistent Luminescence Nanosystem for Improved Nuclear Delivery and Simultaneous Visualization/Therapy of EBV-Associated Cancer.

Epstein-Barr nuclear antigen 1 (EBNA1), a sequence-specific DNA binding protein of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), is essential for viral genome replication and maintenance and is therefore an attractive target for the therapeutic intervention of EBV-associated cancers. Several EBNA1-specific inhibitors have demonstrated the ability to block EBNA1 function in vitro, but practical delivery strategies for these inhibitors in vivo are still lacking. Here, we report an intelligent hierarchical targeting theranostic nanosystem (denoted as mZGOCS@MnO-P5) that integrates an azide (N3) terminal dual-targeting peptide (N3-P5), a tumor microenvironment-responsive degradable MnO nanosheet, and a mesoporous ZnGaO:Cr, Sn near-infrared persistent luminescence (NIR-PL) nanosphere (mZGOCS).

Basic Science and Pathogenesis.

Background: Subjective Memory Complaints (SMC) are defined as the perception of one's own memory. In several studies SMC are associated with Alzheimer's disease (AD) neuropathologic changes, and only one study has analyzed and found an association of SMC with other neurodegenerative, but not vascular, neuropathologic changes. Yet, the evidence on the association of SMC with non-AD neuropathologic changes is insufficient.

Clinical Manifestations.

Background: Recent studies in the younger old have identified associations between cognitive performance and markers of inflammation, including interleukin-6 (IL-6) and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR). These associations remain unexplored in the oldest old (age 90+), an age group most vulnerable to dementia. In addition, no studies have examined if amyloid burden impacts these associations.

R(3780) Resonance Interpreted as the 1^{3}D_{1}-Wave Dominant State of Charmonium from Precise Measurements of the Cross Section of e^{+}e^{-}→Hadrons.

We report the precise measurements of the cross section of e^{+}e^{-}→hadrons at center-of-mass energies from 3.645 to 3.871 GeV.

Clinical Manifestations.

Background: Oldest-old individuals exhibit heterogeneous cognitive function ranging from superior cognitive performance to dementia. Most SuperAger definitions rely on cross-sectional memory scores. Here, we extend the definition by identifying distinct subgroups based on longitudinal trajectories for memory.
