The Spectrum of Cutaneous Granulomatous Inflammation and Detection of Rubella Virus in Skin Biopsies of Patients With Common Variable Immune Deficiency.

Background: There is a known association between common variable immunodeficiency (CVID) and granulomas in multiple organ systems, including the skin, lung, liver, and spleen. Rubella virus has also been detected within cutaneous granulomas in both immunocompetent and immunocompromised hosts. We present a retrospective case series of patients with CVID and granulomatous skin disease and describe the spectrum of clinical and histopathologic features, including the status of rubella virus in the cutaneous granulomas.

This paper presents the findings of longitudinal research conducted in Ethiopia exploring the effects of COVID-19 school closures on children's holistic learning, including their socio-emotional and academic learning. It draws on data from over 2,000 pupils captured in 2019 and 2021 to compare primary school children's dropout and learning before and after school closures. The study adapts self-reporting scales used in similar contexts to measure grade 4-6 pupils' social skills and numeracy.

Psychological therapies for the management of chronic and recurrent pain in children and adolescents.

Background: An increasing number of children suffer with pain that lasts for six months or longer. Traditional treatment for such pain has been pharmacological and/or physical. Increasingly, following developments in the field of adult chronic pain management, psychological therapies are being employed to treat children with chronic or recurrent pain.

Systematic review of randomised controlled trials of psychological therapy for chronic pain in children and adolescents, with a subset meta-analysis of pain relief.

A systematic review and subset meta-analysis of published randomised controlled trials of psychological therapies for children and adolescents with chronic pain is reported. A search of four computerised abstracting services recovered 123 papers from which 28 potential trials were identified. Eighteen met the criteria for inclusion in the review.
