Background/objectives: Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women globally, and it negatively impacts diet and quality of life, increasing the risk of recurrence. Adhering to World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) and American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) lifestyle guidelines, such as healthy eating habits and nutritional status, can help in primary and secondary cancer prevention. However, no questionnaire was found for self-assessment of these guidelines for the Brazilian population.

Article Synopsis
  • A study in La Reunion examined women's preferences for vaginal sampling (VS) for HPV testing as part of cervical cancer (CC) screening, focusing on women aged 30 to 65 who were concerned about their screening status.
  • A total of 202 women participated, with results showing that many preferred to collect the sampling kit from a healthcare provider but also favored self-sampling (SS) at home, with clear instructions provided in French and visual aids.
  • The findings indicated no significant difference in preferences between women who were up to date on screenings versus those who were not, suggesting a potential need for further research on the implementation of self-sampling for a broader population.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to assess if radiographs can help classify thumbs as Blauth IIIA or IIIB based on their morphological features.
  • Six pediatric hand surgeons evaluated 77 thumb radiographs, achieving an 82% consensus in classification and a 77% agreement with the original enrolling surgeon's classification.
  • Key findings indicate that IIIA thumbs are characterized by near-normal dimensions, while IIIB thumbs display abnormally short and tapered shapes; specific length and width ratios further distinguish the two classifications.
