The synthesis of a series of isostructural organometallic complexes featuring Ae-Tr bonds (Ae = Be, Mg; Tr = Al, Ga, In) has been investigated, and their electronic structures probed by quantum chemical calculations. This systematic study allows for comparison, not only of the metal-metal bonding chemistries of the two lightest alkaline earth (Ae) elements, beryllium and magnesium, but also of the three triel (Tr) elements, aluminium, gallium, and indium. Computational analyses (NBO, QTAIM, EDA-NOCV) reveal that Be-Tr bonding is more covalent than Mg-Tr bonding.

We report the preparation and isolation of the compound by the reduction of beryllocene (BeCp) with a dimeric magnesium(I) complex and determination of its structure in the solid state by means of x-ray crystallography. Diberyllocene acts as a reductant in reactions that form beryllium-aluminum and beryllium-zinc bonds.

The issue is well described in the adult literature but the theories and practice recommendations in this body of literature are not easily transferable to pediatric neurorehabilitation. Children and young people sustain a TBI at a time when the brain is yet to fully develop.

Methods: Seven young people (5 male; 14-19 years) participated. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with young people who sustained a severe ABI 1-3 years prior to the study.
Microfluidic devices are becoming increasingly important in various fields of pharmacy, flow chemistry and healthcare. In the embedded microchannel, the flow rates, the dynamic viscosity of the transported liquids and the fluid dynamic properties play an important role. Various functional auxiliary components of microfluidic devices such as flow restrictors, valves and flow meters need to be characterised with liquids used in several microfluidic applications.
