Background: Public health nutrition recommendations and clinical dietary interventions emphasize eating healthy food at home, implicitly requiring household foodwork. Household foodwork is defined as the physical and mental tasks a household does for eating meals and snacks. Because no tools exist to measure it, how much time people spend doing household foodwork and the foodwork barriers they experience remain unknown.

Biomarker Methodologies: A NIMH Perspective.

Biomarkers are critically important in the development of drugs, biologics, medical devices, and psychosocial interventions for psychiatric disorders. As the lead federal agency charged with setting and supporting the national agenda for mental health research, the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) funds a broad portfolio of basic, translational, and clinical research focused on identifying, developing, and validating biomarkers for serious mental illnesses and neurodevelopmental conditions. In psychiatric research over the past 10 years, there has been an intensive effort to identify biomarkers as potential tools to improve treatment options for individuals with mental health concerns and increase success in the development of novel interventions.

Investigating the effects of cortico-cortical paired associative stimulation in the human brain: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Recent decades have witnessed a rapid development of novel neuromodulation techniques that allow direct manipulation of cortical pathways in the human brain. These techniques, known as cortico-cortical paired stimulation (ccPAS), apply magnetic stimulation over two cortical regions altering interregional connectivity. This review evaluates ccPAS's effectiveness to induce plastic changes in cortical pathways in the healthy brain.

Economic Burden of Late-Stage Age-Related Macular Degeneration in Bulgaria, Germany, and the US.

Importance: Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is a highly prevalent and debilitating retinal condition that affects more than 200 million people globally, with the severe late-stage forms-neovascular AMD (nAMD) and geographic atrophy (GA)-affecting more than 11 million people globally. However, much is unknown about the economic burden of the disease.

Objective: To estimate the economic burden associated with late-stage AMD in Bulgaria, Germany, and the US at the societal level.

Fibroblast activation protein (FAP), expressed by carcinoma-associated fibroblasts in various cancer types, including PCa, has the potential to be an alternative target.
