Background: Motion of lung tumors during radiotherapy leads to decreased accuracy of the delivered dose distribution. This is especially true for proton radiotherapy due to the finite range of the proton beam. Methods for mitigating motion rely on knowing the position of the tumor during treatment.

. Real-time adaptive particle therapy is being investigated as a means to maximize the treatment delivery accuracy. To react to dosimetric errors, a system for fast and reliable verification of the agreement between planned and delivered doses is essential.

In particle therapy (PT) in particular, eliminating the need for a gantry can present massive cost and facility footprint reduction. This review discusses the opportunities of upright RT in perspective of the open challenges.

Objective: The corticospinal tract (CST) is considered the most important motor output pathway comprising fibers from the primary motor cortex (M1) and various premotor areas. Damage to its descending fibers after stroke commonly leads to motor impairment. While premotor areas are thought to critically support motor recovery after stroke, the functional role of their corticospinal output for different aspects of post-stroke motor control remains poorly understood.

Corticosteroids, histamine-1 and histamine-2 receptor antagonists are given prior to paclitaxel infusions to reduce the incidence of HSR. There are limited data that suggest administration of cetirizine given prior to a platinum infusion as secondary prophylaxis may reduce HSR rates.
