The Role of Virtual Cystoscopy, after Multidetector Computed Tomography Imaging Reconstruction without the Use of Contrast Medium, in the Diagnosis and Evaluations of Bladder Tumors: Preliminary Study.

Introduction. Although conventional cystoscopy is considered to be the gold standard for diagnosis and follow-up of bladder tumors, it remains an invasive and costly procedure. With the advent of the multidetector CT (MDCT) scanners supported by specialized software virtual cystoscopy (VC) is possible.

Can pain influence the severity of findings of an (18)F-FDG PET/CT scan in loosening hip arthroplasty?

Pain is a common symptom after loosening and/or after infection of arthroplasty. The aim of the present case report is to indicate that fluorine-18-fluorodeoxy-glucose positron emission tomography/computerized tomography((18)F-FDG PET/CT) scan can be used for the evaluation of pain at the site of arthroplasty with a semi quantitative measurement. An 84 years old male patient, with a history of papillary thyroid cancer was referred to our Nuclear Medicine Department for an (18)F-FDG PET/CT scan for evaluation of his metastatic disease.

Interstitial magnetic resonance lymphography: the clinical effectiveness of a new method.

The aim of this study is to evaluate effectiveness of interstitial magnetic resonance lymphography as an examination for the depiction of the lymphatic system in humans by comparison with direct x-ray lymphography. We studied 14 subjects (two volunteers and 12 patients with clinical suspicion of lymphedema of the lower extremities). We first administered subcutaneous gadobutrol between the toes and performed MR lymphography.

Quality assurance of Siemen's virtual wedge(TM)by using film dosimetry.

A film dosi netry method is proposed for measuring the non-uniform dose distribution generated by Virtual Wedges of a 6 MV Siemens Pr mus accelerator. This method was chosen due to the dose integration capabilities and the improved spatial resolution that films offer, giving the opportunity of measuring dose distribution in a single beam irradiation. Dose profiles were obtained and analyzed using a 16-bit Vidar film scanner and OmniPro-Accept software.
