Article Synopsis
  • Recent advancements in antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) have improved outcomes for patients with HER2-low-expressing breast cancer, a group that previously lacked effective targeted therapies.
  • A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of various ADCs, including trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd) and sacituzumab govitecan (SG), in treating HER2-low advanced or metastatic breast cancer, pulling data from multiple reputable sources.
  • The findings revealed that patients treated with T-DXd had significantly better outcomes in terms of objective response rate, disease control rate, and overall survival compared to those receiving traditional treatment options, highlighting the potential of ADCs as effective therapies.

Regulatory elements activate promoters by recruiting transcription factors (TFs) to specific motifs. Notably, TF-DNA interactions often depend on cooperativity with colocalized partners, suggesting an underlying cis-regulatory syntax. To explore TF cooperativity in mammals, we analyze ∼500 mouse and human primary cells by combining an atlas of TF motifs, footprints, ChIP-seq, transcriptomes, and accessibility.

Article Synopsis
  • Type 1 innate lymphoid cells (ILC1) play a crucial role in defending against infections and exhibit different states of functionality in various conditions.
  • Research shows that ILC1 in the liver are diverse, particularly in their expression of effector molecules like granzyme A (GzmA) and surface receptors like CD160, with those expressing high GzmA being more prevalent as mice age.
  • The study also finds that ILC1 are distinct from natural killer (NK) cells and that their diversity may arise from the ability of ILC3 cells to transform into ILC1, contributing to various functions such as cytotoxicity and IFN-γ production.

Increased risk of premature cardiovascular disease (CVD) is well recognized in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Aberrant type I-Interferon (IFN)-neutrophil interactions contribute to this enhanced CVD risk. In lupus animal models, the Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor tofacitinib improves clinical features, immune dysregulation and vascular dysfunction.

Some common practices in aquaculture, ornamental trade and fish facilities may disturb the behavioural repertoire of fish and its natural adaptive value, reducing welfare and impairing fish production. Hence, it is necessary to understand fish behaviour, as well as the factors affecting it, to improve the quality of fish's life under artificial environment. Here, we reviewed the behaviour of the angelfish Pterophyllum scalare, an Amazonian cichlid used worldwide both as an ornamental fish and as a fish model in scientific research.
