We report on the synthesis and characterization of an imine-type nickel complex produced the complexation of an generated 2-(iminomethyl)phenol ligand with Ni ion. The use of this complex as an electrocatalyst for H evolution in a DMF solution, with acetic acid as the proton source, was investigated in detail, employing both experimental analyses (electrochemical analysis, spectroscopy analysis) and theoretical analysis (plateau current analysis). The overpotential required for H evolution is about 590 mV with a faradaic efficiency of 49% after 3 hours bulk electrolysis, competing with the two-electron reduction of free-imine groups in the ligand.

The laser-induced fluorescence technique has the advantage of fast and non-destructive detection and can be used to classify types of marine microplastics. However, spectral overlap poses a challenge for qualitative and quantitative analysis by conventional fluorescence spectroscopy. In this paper, a 405 nm excitation laser source was used to irradiate 4 types of microplastic samples with different concentrations, and a total of 1600 sets of fluorescence spectral data were obtained.

Microglia, the resident macrophages of the brain, are derived from the yolk sac and colonize the brain before the blood-brain barrier forms. Once established, they expand locally and require Colony-stimulating-factor-1 receptor (CSF1R) signaling for their development and maintenance. CSF1R inhibitors have been used extensively to deplete microglia in the healthy and diseased brain.
