Dobutamine stress-induced ischemic right ventricular dysfunction in patients with three-vessel coronary artery disease.

Background: Dobutamine stress echocardiography (DSE) is a non-invasive technique to detect coronary artery diseases (CAD). There are limited studies on evaluation of the right ventricular function by stress echocardiography. The appropriate evaluation of RV function and early diagnosis of its failure can help to improve outcomes for the patients undergoing cardiac surgery.

A double-blind randomized comparative study of triamcinolone hexacetonide and dexamethasone intra-articular injection for the treatment of knee joint arthritis in rheumatoid arthritis.

Intra-articular glucocorticoid (GC) injection has been used for more than half a century in the treatment of refractory synovitis in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). There are limited data about the efficacy of intra-articular injection of various preparations of GCs on inflamed joint. The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy and side effects of intra-articular injection of dexamethasone (DEX) and triamcinolone hexacetonide (TH) in the treatment of knee joint arthritis in RA.

Maternal serum magnesium level and low birth weight neonate.

Background: The aim of study was to compare the serum level of magnesium in mothers having low birth weight with those having normal birth weight neonates.

Methods: In a case-control study, women who delivered low birth weight neonate (cases), compared with normal birth weight (controls) in serum concentration of magnesium. Blood samples collected within 24 h after delivery.

Relationship between Low Birth Weight Neonate and Maternal Serum Zinc Concentration.

Background: Zinc deficiency can lead to clinically relevant disturbances in tissue functions and particularly important for birth weight of neonates. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between serum zinc in pregnant women and the incidence of low birth weight (<2500 g) in their newborns.

Methods: This case-control study was done on women who delivered low birth weight infants (Cases), and normal birth weight infants (Controls).

Comparison of various cosolvency models for calculating solute solubility in water-cosolvent mixtures.

Previously published cosolvency models are critically evaluated in terms of their ability to mathematically correlate solute solubility in binary solvent mixtures as a function of solvent composition. Computational results show that the accuracy of the models is improved by increasing the number of curve-fit parameters. However, the curve-fit parameters of several models are limited.
