Intravenous exposure to He-Ne laser was added to the anesthesiologic schemes of 26 patients during surgery on the intestine. The reference group consisted on 23 patients. Comparison of the blood antioxidant activities (from the levels of ceruloplasmin and transferrin) and the endogenic intoxication levels (from the medium molecule test) showed that intravenous laser exposure at a wavelength of 630 nm stabilized the blood antioxidant activity and prevented the development of endogenous intoxication.

Based on the experience gained in surgery for varicose veins of the lower limbs, the authors discuss the strategy of conduction anesthesia and the necessity of replacing it with the alternative analgetic methods. Conduction anesthesia implies that variants of anesthesiologic provision are specified, based on the results of conduction anesthesia and the patient's status; if a physician doubts whether the nerve block or patient's behavior controllability are full-value, he should resort to combined anesthesia; the surgeon's manipulations in nerve blocking should not increase the risk or limit the use of alternative methods of analgesia.

The effect of intravenous blood irradiation, using helium-neon laser, on vegetative homeostasis during surgery was studied. It has been established that the introduction of low-intensity laser blood irradiation into a complex of anesthesiologic procedures ensures a more effective protection of patients from the surgical stress.

The experiments were carried out on white mice whose brain was irradiated transcranially with laser light in infrared range. Exposure to irradiation was 20 min. In one group of animals only laser light was used, in others laser was combined with morphine (3mg/kg), clonidine (0.
