Endoscopic Stent for Anastomotic Leakage Treatment Post Proximal Gastrectomy in Gastric Cancer: A Case Report.

The management of gastrointestinal anastomotic leaks post surgery is a considerable challenge, characterized by elevated morbidity and mortality, particularly in cases of esophageal-jejunal anastomotic leaks. Diverse endoscopic intervention techniques have been utilized with enhanced success. We present a case where a 57-year-old patient with Siewert type II esophageal cardia cancer underwent endoscopic deployment of a fully covered stent into a fistula resulting from anastomotic leakage, following a laparoscopic proximal gastrectomy with Roux-en-Y and double tract reconstruction.

A comparative study of multi and single post labeling delay pseudocontinuous arterial spin labeling in patients with carotid artery stenosis.

Purpose: Arterial Spin Labeling (ASL) allows for the non-invasive visualization of brain perfusion to detect abnormalities. In unilateral carotid artery stenosis, one hemisphere is less supplied with blood which results in a lower cerebral blood flow (CBF) compared to the healthy side. ASL can be performed time-resolved using multiple post labeling delay (PLD) times after labeling or static with a single delay, the latter allowing for a faster and more robust acquisition while bearing the risk of a falsely set delay resulting in unusable images.

Bone Turnover Marker for the Evaluation of Skeletal Remodelling in Autosomal Recessive Osteopetrosis after Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation: A Case Report.

: Autosomal recessive osteopetrosis (ARO) is a rare genetic disorder of bone metabolism, primarily affecting the remodelling function of osteoclasts. Haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is the first-line treatment for ARO. Traditional tools for the assessment of therapeutic response, such as measuring donor chimerism, do not provide information on bone remodelling.

Peripheral Bone Relapse of Paediatric TCF3-HLF Positive Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia during Haematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation: A Case Report.

The present case report features a highly uncommon form of a paediatric TCF3-HLF positive acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) relapse, an extramedullary, peripheral bone manifestation. Following complete remission, during the conditioning for haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), our sixteen-year-old male patient complained of fever, pain and swelling of the right forearm. Radiography suggested acute osteomyelitis in the right ulna with subsequent surgical confirmation.

Anti-Neuronal Autoantibodies (Cell Surface and Onconeural) and Their Association With Natural Autoantibodies in Synthetic Cannabinoid-Induced Psychosis.

Patients suffering from encephalitis may present psychiatric symptoms; however, the clinical relevance of anti-neuronal antibodies in patients experiencing a psychotic episode without encephalitis is still unclear. In this study, we examined the presence of anti-neuronal cell surface autoantibodies and onconeural autoantibodies in serum samples of 22 synthetic cannabinoid users presenting with psychosis. We found only two positive cases; however, seven patients had borderline results.
