Adhesive-invasive has been suggested to be associated with the development of Crohn's disease (CD). It is assumed that they can provoke the onset of the inflammatory process as a result of the invasion of intestinal epithelial cells and then, due to survival inside macrophages and dendritic cells, stimulate chronic inflammation. In previous reports, we have shown that passage of the CD isolate ZvL2 on minimal medium M9 supplemented with sodium propionate (PA) as a carbon source stimulates and inhibits the adherent-invasive properties and the ability to survive in macrophages.

This work studies hybrid microcrystals of vaterite obtained in the presence of natural polysaccharides, as carriers for the delivery of proteins and enzymes. Hybrid microcrystals with dextran sulfate, chondroitin sulfate, heparin, fucoidan, and pectin were obtained and compared.

High levels of TILs are associated with improved survival and higher probability to achieve pathological complete response in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC).
Objective: To assess the level of TILs in TNBC samples and analyze the association between the level of TILs and the main pathological parameters, to identify their impact on long-term results.
Accurate 6-DoF pose estimation of surgical instruments during minimally invasive surgeries can substantially improve treatment strategies and eventual surgical outcome. Existing deep learning methods have achieved accurate results, but they require custom approaches for each object and laborious setup and training environments often stretching to extensive simulations, whilst lacking real-time computation. We propose a general-purpose approach of data acquisition for 6-DoF pose estimation tasks in X-ray systems, a novel and general purpose YOLOv5-6D pose architecture for accurate and fast object pose estimation and a complete method for surgical screw pose estimation under acquisition geometry consideration from a monocular cone-beam X-ray image.

As we have shown previously, the binding of mucin onto particles enhances the generation of reactive oxygen species by neutrophils. The attenuation of the pro-oxidant effect of the bound mucin through the modification of vaterite could improve its biocompatibility.
