Background: Prognostication of atypical spindle cell neoplasms, including atypical fibroxanthoma (AFX) and pleomorphic dermal sarcoma (PDS), is challenging; outcomes vary widely, and further identification of prognostic features is crucial.
Objective: To evaluate prognostic factors that may portend worse outcomes in patients with AFX and PDS.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective chart review of patients with AFX and PDS was conducted.
Unlabelled: Neuraminidase (NA)-specific antibodies contribute to immunity against influenza. While studies have demonstrated increased NA inhibiting (NAI) antibody titers after vaccination with egg-derived inactivated influenza vaccines (eIIV), the response to cell culture-derived (c) IIV has not been reported.
Methods: An immunogenicity sub-study was performed within a clinical trial comparing the effectiveness of egg, cell, and recombinant hemagglutinin (HA)-derived influenza vaccines during the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 influenza seasons.
Extracellular matrix (ECM) from decellularized mammalian tissues has been used in many therapeutic applications. The tissue-specific composition of the ECM is critically associated with therapeutic performance. However, ECM translation needs to be improved because of the complex composition and limited understanding of ECM repairing mechanisms due partly to incomplete proteomic interrogation of ECM samples.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFIn recent years, discovery proteomics has emerged as a pivotal tool in biological research, especially when studying the intricate relationships among multiple organisms. To delve deeper into these interactions, we pioneered a bottom-up proteomics workflow. Using nanoLC-MS/MS and a label-free quantification method, this work specifically examines the differential protein expression in fleas (Ctenocephalides felis felis) that have been experimentally infected with Bartonella henselae, the causative agent of cat scratch disease (CSD).
