This paper reviews the literature and own data on prevalence of thyroid diseases in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). It has been shown that 20-25% of untreated MS patients have autoimmune thyroiditis (AIT) and/or subclinical hypothyroidism. No correlation was found between age, gender, disease course, MS duration, disability status and prevalence of thyroid disorders.

Baclosan (baclofen), a GABA analogue, has been used in the treatment of 20 patients, aged 20-56 years, with a pain syndrome in dorsopathy of lumbar spine. Baclosan has been administered in the increasing dosages (from 10 mg to 30 mg per day) for 4 weeks in conjunction with traditional therapy (symptomatic pharmacotherapy, physiotherapy, reflexotherapy etc).The control group consisted of 10 patients who received only basic therapy (without baclosan).

Cerepro, a central cholinomimetic drug, was administered to 60 patients after ischemic stroke in region of cerebral arteries. Patients were divided into 2 equal groups matched for demographic and clinical characteristics. In the first group, cerepro was prescribed in dosage 1000 mg in 200 ml of physiological solution intravenously, in drops, daily during 10 days with the following intake of the drug in capsules - 1200 mg daily during 6 weeks.
