Objective: It is controversial whether rapid lowering of triglyceride (TG) levels is associated with clinical benefits in patients with hypertriglyceridaemia-associated acute pancreatitis (HTG-AP). In particular, patients with different severity of disease may respond differently to TG-lowering therapy. In this study, we aimed to explore the association between rapid decline in serum TG levels and organ failure in patients with different severities of HTG-AP.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by progressive memory loss and cognitive decline, significantly impairing the daily life of elderly individuals. The low abundance of blood-based biomarkers in AD necessitates higher analytical technique requirements. Herein, one novel iridium-based ECL self-enhanced nanoemitter (TPrA@Ir-SiO) was unprecedentedly reported, and it was further used to construct an ultrasensitive ECL magnetic immunosensor by a multiple-signal amplification strategy to unequally sensitively and accurately detect the AD blood-based biomarker (P-tau181) in this work.

miR-21 promotes cervical cancer by regulating NTF3.

This study explores the influence of miR-21 and its interaction with the target gene Neurotrophin-3 (NTF3) in cervical cancer (CC). We employed bioinformatics tools, including DIANA, Targetscan, miRDB, and miRDIP, to predict the target genes of miR-21. Immunohistochemistry, RT-qPCR, and Western blotting were performed to quantify the expression levels of miR-21-5p and NTF3 in cervical cancer cells.

Effects of acute PM purification on cognitive function and underlying mechanisms: Evidence from integrating alternative splicing into multi-omics.

The relationship between fine particulate matter (PM) and cognition has been extensively investigated. However, the causal impact of acute PM purification on cognition improvement and the underlying biological mechanisms remain relatively opaque. Our double-blinded randomized controlled trial assessed the impact of acute PM purification on executive function, underpinned by multi-omics approaches including alternative splicing (AS) analysis.
