Purpose/objectives: Emotional intelligence (EI) supports clinical and social competencies of a practicing dentist. The Bar-On EI model consists of inter-related competencies in five domains: Self-Perception, Self-Expression, Interpersonal, Decision making, and Stress management. This study investigated the relationship between dental students' EI measured by Emotional Quotient Inventory 2.

Oppositely charged species can form electrostatic interactions in aqueous solution, and these may lead to reduced solubility of the interacting components. Herein, insoluble complex formation between the lipophilic weakly basic drugs, cinnarizine or loratadine, and the enteric polymer, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose acetate succinate (HPMCAS), was studied and used to better understand drug and polymer release from their corresponding amorphous solid dispersions (ASDs). Surface area normalized release experiments were performed at various pH conditions for three different grades of HPMCAS, LF, MF and HF, as well as their ASDs.

Purpose: 7 days L-citrulline supplementation has been reported to improve blood pressure, O kinetics, gastrointestinal (GI) perfusion and endurance cycling performance through increasing arterial blood flow. In situations where blood volume is compromised (e.g.

The disruption of the intestinal epithelial barrier leads to increased intestinal permeability (IP), allowing endotoxins and pathogens to enter the bloodstream contributing to chronic inflammation. Western diets are associated with increased IP, while diets rich in polyphenols, fiber, and omega-3 fats are linked to decreased IP. The relationship between diet, disease activity, and IP in ulcerative colitis (UC) is poorly understood.

() is a bacterial pathogen that has evolved in humans, and its interactions with the host are complex and best studied in humans. Myriad immune pathways are involved in infection control, granuloma formation, and progression to tuberculosis (TB) disease. Inflammatory cells, such as macrophages, neutrophils, conventional and unconventional T cells, B cells, NK cells, and innate lymphoid cells, interact via cytokines, cell-cell communication, and eicosanoid signaling to contain or eliminate infection but can alternatively mediate pathological changes required for pathogen transmission.
