Introduction: We sought to assess the performance of the proudP AI algorithm, integrated into a mobile application, in estimating uroflow curves and parameters using recorded urination sounds.

Methods: A direct comparison was made between the peak flow rate (Qmax), voided volume, and uroflow curves predicted by the proudP algorithm and those obtained through established validation methods. A hardware uroflow simulator replicated uroflow profiles by precisely controlling water flow rates and extracting corresponding sound data.

The conscientious prescribing of antiemetics by chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) risk was highlighted in the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) "Choosing Wisely" recommendations. The pharmacologic properties of medical marijuana (MMJ) may allow for decreased incidence of CINV; however, little is known about the effects of MMJ on the use of antiemetics. This study aimed to determine if MMJ cardholder status, which enables access to MMJ, is associated with antiemetic overuse among patients with cancer.

Objectives: This manuscript presents a comprehensive framework for the assessment of the value of real-world evidence (RWE) in healthcare decision-making. While RWE has been proposed to overcome some limitations of traditional, one-off studies, no systematic framework exists to measure if RWE actually lowers the burden. This framework aims to fill that gap by providing conceptual approaches for evaluating the time and cost efficiencies of RWE, thus guiding strategic investments in RWE infrastructure.

Article Synopsis
  • The study explored the effects of bitter orange peel powder (BOPP) on Nile tilapia juveniles by dividing 120 fish into four groups with varying levels of BOPP supplementation in their diets.
  • Results showed that BOPP improved growth in tilapia, particularly at a 10 g/kg inclusion rate, with better weight gain and development of intestinal villi compared to the control group.
  • Although higher BOPP levels increased lipids and cholesterol, all groups had similar thermal tolerance, indicating BOPP could be a cost-effective nutritional option for fish.

Introduction: With more than 60% of urological procedures performed in ambulatory settings, it is imperative to understand the current trends in postoperative narcotic prescriptions and their adherence to the guidelines. We studied postoperative opioid-prescribing patterns after selected common urology ambulatory procedures.

Methods: A retrospective cohort was derived from a 10% random sample of enrollees within the IQVIA PharMetrics Plus for Academics database from 2015 to 2021.
