Background: Despite evidence that gastroesophageal reflux (GER) is harmful to the lung allograft, the mechanism of injury remains incompletely defined. We hypothesized that GER induces a humoral alloimmune response and examined the association between GER and de novo donor-specific antibody (DSA) development.
Methods: 508 lung transplant recipients who underwent routine pH-impedance testing at 3 months post-transplant were included.
Purpose: Patients in neurologic intensive care unit (NICU) often undergo inferior vena cava filter (IVCF) placement for venous thrombotic events. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of IVCF, filter retrieval, and mortality among patients that received IVCF in NICU.
Materials And Methods: In this single institutional, noncomparative, retrospective study, all patients who were admitted to NICU and underwent IVCF placement from April 2015 to December 2020 were reviewed.
Background: Mycobacterium abscessus complex is known to cause life-threatening disease in lung transplantation (LT) recipients (LTRs). Therefore, many centers consider the presence of M. abscessus as a relative contraindication to LT.

Given the burden it represents, many studies have focused on the risk factors involved, but very few have aimed to explain why some people live well with chronic pain, beyond the psychological realm. Thus, this study collected and analyzed different individual experiences to identify the pivotal conditions that help some individuals achieve quality of life despite chronic pain, with an emphasis on social considerations.

Social media is increasingly used as a source of information and as a decision tool for patients, and awareness of these conversations is important for patient counseling.
Objective: The goal of this study was to compare sentiments and associated emotions in social media discussions surrounding BCS and mastectomy using natural language processing (NLP).
