Practitioners' perspectives on unintended effects of illicit drug use prevention public service announcements in Australia.

Public service announcements (PSAs) or campaigns aimed at preventing harm can inadvertently risk creating additional harms. It remains unclear whether these unintended effects are considered during campaign development, if risk mitigation strategies are implemented, or how professionals involved perceive these issues. It is in the context of illicit drug use prevention PSAs that our research investigates and explores the perspectives of practitioners-health support professionals and advertising campaign designers and creators.

A qualitative study of barriers and facilitators to compression stocking use in patients with chronic venous insufficiency.

Introduction: Compression stocking therapy is the gold standard of treatment for conditions associated with lower limb venous dysfunction. The benefits in symptom relief and preventing disease progression are well documented. Despite this, adherence to compression stocking therapy is poor.

Headache disorders in patients with Ehlers-Danlos syndromes and hypermobility spectrum disorders.

Extra-articular symptoms, including headaches, are frequently encountered in patients with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) and hypermobility spectrum disorders (HSD), and may be the presenting complaint. Migraine is reported in up to three quarters of patients with symptomatic joint hypermobility, have a higher headache frequency, and an earlier age of onset compared to the general population. Orthostatic headache is an important presentation, and should raise suspicion of an underlying spinal cerebrospinal fluid leak, dysautonomia, and craniocervical pathology, which are all associated with heritable connective tissue disorders (HCTD) including EDS.

Open label experience of repeated OnabotulinumtoxinA injections towards the sphenopalatine ganglion in patients with chronic cluster headache and chronic migraine.

Background: A novel technique for injection of OnabotulinumtoxinA (BTA) towards the sphenopalatine ganglion (SPG) has shown promise in refractory chronic migraine (CM) and chronic cluster headache (CCH). Open label safety and efficacy data are presented here.

Methods: Patients with refractory CM or CCH who had received at least one injection and completed headache diaries were included.
