The aim of this work was to study the physiological mechanisms of dormancy and sprouting during post-harvest of garlic (Allium sativum L.) microbulblets produced by meristem culture of garlic seed cloves. The morphological changes occurring in garlic microbulblets were assessed from harvest till sprouting in relation with peroxidase activity and levels of gibberellins.

Methods: Prospective analysis of clinical manifestations and immunological features of 34 patients in whom the first manifestations appeared in childhood from a series of 430 unselected patients with SLE.
Results: Thirty one (91%) patients from the childhood onset group were female and three male (9%) (ratio female/male, 10/1, with no difference compared with the adult onset group).
The present report deals with digital and palmar dermatoglyphics of a sample of 98 Chorote indians, collected in the north of Argentina, in the Gran Chaco region. Bimanual dimorphism was observed in males and females, both in finger and in palmar variables. Significant differences between sexes appear only in digital ridge counts and in the combined incidence of the four pattern types the Chorote, in general, show low sexual dimorphism.
