Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has not only affected the health status of the population but has also had a serious impact on family dynamics, especially in the relationship between parents and children. Home confinement along with the closures of schools has had a strong negative impact on the psychosocial wellbeing of children. This study assesses the effects of the pandemic on families, parenting stress, and emotional well-being of children in villages under Mugalur Sub-centre, Sarjapur PHC, Bengaluru.

Decoding Pulmonary Embolism: Pathophysiology, Diagnosis, and Treatment.

Pulmonary Embolism (PE) is a life-threatening condition initiated by the presence of blood clots in the pulmonary arteries, leading to severe morbidity and mortality. Underlying mechanisms involve endothelial dysfunction, including impaired blood flow regulation, a pro-thrombotic state, inflammation, heightened oxidative stress, and altered vascular remodeling. These mechanisms contribute to vascular diseases stemming from PE, such as recurrent thromboembolism, chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension, post-thrombotic syndrome, right heart failure, and cardiogenic shock.

A Rare Case of Disseminated Peritoneal Leiomyomatosis: A Case Report.

Disseminated peritoneal leiomyomatosis is a benign condition characterized by multiple extrauterine leiomyomas in various locations such as the peritoneum, mesentery, abdominal wall, and pelvis. This is typically observed following laparoscopic myomectomy and is an extremely rare disease, with only a limited number of cases reported thus far. It primarily affects women in their reproductive age group and is believed to be associated with ovarian secretions.

A signal-seeking phase 2 study of Trastuzumab emtansine in tumours harbouring HER2 amplification or mutation.

This single-arm phase II non-randomised trial (ACTRN12619001265167) evaluated trastuzumab emtansine in solid cancers with HER2 amplification or mutation detected by comprehensive genomic profiling. The primary objective was objective response (OR), while secondary objectives included the time to progression (TTP) on study to TTP on prior therapy ratio, progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS). The cohort included 16 tumours with HER2 mutations (group 1) and 16 with HER2 amplification (group 2).
