Synergistic effects of silver nanoparticles in combination with ineffective antibiotics against multidrug resistant .

Objectives: To determine the antimicrobial activity of silver nano-particles(AgNPs) with tetracycline and ampicillin against multi-drug resistance (MDR) and extensively-drug resistance (XDR) .

Methods: Cross sectional non-probability purposive study was conducted from September, 2021 to May, 2022 at Microbiology department PNS Shifa, Hospital Karachi. Blood cultures of patients suspicious of typhoid fever were collected and incubated in automated Bact/Alert system.

Successful Treatment of Confirmed Naegleria fowleri Primary Amebic Meningoencephalitis.

Primary amebic meningoencephalitis caused by Naegleria fowleri is a rare but nearly always fatal parasitic infection of the brain. Globally, few survivors have been reported, and the disease has no specific treatment. We report a confirmed case in Pakistan in a 22-year-old man who survived after aggressive therapy.

Atypical Presentation of Gouty Tophus as Posterior Cruciate Ligament Cyst: A Case Report.

Introduction: Gouty tophi generally develop around 10 years after the first attack of gout in untreated patients and are commonly found around feet, hands, and elbows. However, tophi can also occur as first sign of disorder. Tophaceous gout presenting in young at the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) is extremely rare and difficult to diagnose because of its atypical presentation and no hallmark features in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

A Rare Occurrence of Enchondroma in the Head of Femur in an Adult Male: A Case Report.

Introduction: Enchondroma is a solitary, benign, and intramedullary cartilaginous tumor occurring most commonly in small bones of hands and feet contributing to 3-10% of all bone tumors. They originate from the growth plate cartilage which later on proliferates to form enchondroma. Lesions are central or eccentric and metaphyseal involvement is most common for long bones.
