The calcium (Ca2+) metabolism disorder in IHD patients which manifests itself in an increase of blood serum content of ionized Ca2+ and its accumulation in red blood cells and in cardiomyocytes is accompanied by myocardial functional disturbances as an increase in myocardial stiffness. The increase both of ionized Ca2+ content in blood plasma and left ventricular rigidity are prerequisites for the antianginal effect of corinfar. Normalization of Ca2+ content in blood plasma by corinfar can serve as a criterion of therapy efficiency of IHD patients.
