Article Synopsis
  • Docetaxel (DTX) is commonly used for treating metastatic breast cancer, but resistance to this treatment poses significant challenges.
  • The study explored the creation of dicarboxylic acid-derivatized C fullerenes as a new way to deliver DTX, achieving successful conjugation and favorable characteristics for drug release.
  • The resulting nanoconjugates demonstrated improved effectiveness and safety in delivering DTX, showing enhanced bioavailability and compatibility for potential clinical use.

Harvesting freshwater from saline and seawater using solar energy has proven a significant impact in recent times. The present study aims to investigate the performance of the solar desalination system by incorporating glass reflectors, heat storage media, and a thermoelectric cooling system with a single-basin-type distiller. Accordingly, the objective of the study is to improve the performance of the solar distiller in terms of freshwater production and efficiency compared to a conventional setup.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of serum cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (sCOMP) and  serum C-terminal cross-linked telopeptide of type I collagen (sCTX-I) in identifying disease severity in knee osteoarthritis (KOA) cases.

Methods: A total of 150 individuals (100 cases and 50 controls) were recruited. They were assessed clinically and radiologically with WOMAC score and knee radiographs respectively, while biochemical assessment was done by serum COMP and serum CTX-I level.

In this paper, the combustion characteristics of biogas in a Porous Radiant Burner (PRB) designed for domestic cooking appliances are presented. Developed PRB consists of two layers of porous matrices viz., Silicon Carbide (SiC) and Alumina (AlO) and operates in the biogas flow range of 177 to 530 l/h with stable equivalence ratio (ϕ) range of 0.

Docetaxel (DTX), a widely prescribed anticancer agent, is now associated with increased instances of multidrug resistance. Also, being a problematic BCS class IV drug, it poses challenges for the formulators. Henceforth, it was envisioned to synthesize an analogue of DTX with a biocompatible lipid, i.
