The core component of the class III phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase complex, Beclin 1, takes part in different protein networks, thus switching its role from inducing autophagy to regulating autophagosomal maturation and endosomal trafficking. While assessed in neurons, astrocytes, and microglia, its role is far less investigated in myelinating glia, including Schwann cells (SCs), responsible for peripheral nerve myelination. Remarkably, the dysregulation in endosomal trafficking is emerging as a pathophysiological mechanism underlying peripheral neuropathies, such as demyelinating Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) diseases.

Methods: An ongoing US population-based observational cohort study with retrospective and prospective collection of national electronic healthcare data collected from the US Optum® deidentified COVID-19 Electronic Health Record dataset during December 22, 2021-July 20, 2022. Participants were ≥12 years old; had a positive SARS-CoV-2 test, COVID-19 diagnosis, or NMV/r prescription; and were at high risk of severe COVID-19 based on demographic/clinical characteristics.
Objectives: This study evaluated the accuracy of the Medit i700 intraoral scanner (IOS) in capturing horizontal tooth preparations at different depths below the gingival margin and assessed its ability to detect surfaces beyond the finish line.
Methods: Using CAD software, two abutments of a standard maxillary first molar were designed with horizontal preparation and 0.8 mm chamfer at 1 mm and 2 mm depths below the gingival margin.
The management of neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) involves the measurement of serum chromogranin A (s-CGA), serum neuro-specific enolase (s-NSE), and urinary 5-hydroxindolacetic acid (5-HIAA). Urinary para-hydroxyphenylacetic acid (u-pHPAA), a metabolite of tyrosine, has been proposed as a potential biomarker for these diseases. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of u-pHPAA and tyrosine as biomarkers.

Quantifying these skills, especially coordinative abilities, remains challenging. This study aimed to assess the performance of five motor tasks in children and adolescents using high-speed video analysis, providing data for movement and health professionals.
