Background: Rheumatology has experienced notable changes in the last decades. New drugs, including biologic agents and Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors, have blossomed. Concepts such as window of opportunity, arthralgia suspicious for progression, or difficult-to-treat rheumatoid arthritis (RA) have appeared; and new management approaches and strategies such as treat-to-target have become popular.

18F-FDG-PET/CT Scan for Detection of Large Vessel Involvement in Giant Cell Arteritis: Arteser Spanish Registry.

Imaging studies have transformed the diagnosis of large vessel vasculitis (LVV) involvement in giant cell arteritis (GCA). A positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scan with 18-fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG) has emerged as a valuable tool for assessing LVV. We aimed to determine the utility of an 18F-FDG-PET/CT scan in detecting LVV in GCA in the ARTESER registry.

Effects of computer-based cognitive training vs. paper-and-pencil-based training on the cognitive development of typically developing children: Protocol for a randomized controlled trial.

The research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a computerized cognitive training program in improving executive functions and attention in elementary school children, compared to a traditional paper-and-pencil intervention. The study has been formulated as a randomized controlled trial with pre- and post-intervention measures. For the study, third-grade children with typical development aged between 7 and 9 years will be recruited.

In this study of the alterations of Glypicans 1 to 6 (GPCs) and Notum in plasma, bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells (BM-MSCs) and osteoblasts in Osteoarthritis (OA), the levels of GPCs and Notum in the plasma of 25 patients and 24 healthy subjects were measured. In addition, BM-MSCs from eight OA patients and eight healthy donors were cultured over a period of 21 days using both a culture medium and an osteogenic medium. Protein and gene expression levels of GPCs and Notum were determined using ELISA and qPCR at 0, 7, 14 and 21 days.
