We wanted to investigate the relationship of medical and non-medical factors with the clinical decision-making of pediatricians. We hypothesize that the addition of relevant medical information (either alarming or reassuring) will influence the physician's decision-making, but that the addition of non-medical information will also play a role. To investigate this, we designed an online questionnaire containing ten clinical case-based scenarios, of which five focused on medical factors and five on non-medical/context factors, each scored on a five-point Likert scale.

Purpose: Injection of tumor cells transformed by the early region 1 of human adenovirus type 5 (Ad5E1) in the anterior chamber (AC) of C57BL/6 mice leads to intraocular tumor formation. This tumor disappears spontaneously 3 to 4 weeks after tumor inoculation without damaging the neighboring ocular tissues. Previous studies have shown that CD4+ T cells, IFNgamma, and TRAIL (tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand) play a role in the spontaneous eradication of this particular intraocular tumor.

These CTL strongly responded to the gp100(154-162) epitope, in the context of both the chimeric A2/K(b) and the wild-type HLA-A*0201- molecule, and efficiently lysed human HLA-A*0201(+), gp100(+) melanoma cells in vitro. The capacity of the CTL to eradicate these tumors in vivo was analyzed in A2/K(b)-transgenic transgenic mice that had received a tumorigenic dose of human uveal melanoma cells in the anterior chamber of the eye.
