Background: Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a gynaecological problem affecting women within reproductive age, accompanied by several metabolic anomalies, thus leading to alteration in kidney function and hyperuricaemia. Due to the high prevalence of cardiometabolic factors in PCOS, there is a need to anticipate an increased number of kidney impairments amongst these women.
Objectives: This review aims to investigate the potential link between PCOS, impaired kidney function, and elevated uric acid levels.

Psychotropic drugs (PDs) include anxiolytics, sedatives and hypnotics, antidepressants, and antipsychotics, and they are available as medicines with different safety profiles. Given Portugal's high anxiolytic consumption and the rising prevalence of mental disorders, safety monitoring is crucial. This study aimed to analyze the individual case safety reports (ICSR) of suspected adverse drug reactions (ADRs) related to PDs, obtained through spontaneous reporting, and recorded in the Portuguese National Pharmacovigilance System between January 2017 and December 2021.

Snail control to complement mass drug administration is being promoted by the World Health Organization for schistosomiasis control. , the snail intermediate host of in the Philippines, has a very focal distribution; thus, scrutinizing baseline data and parameters affecting this distribution is very crucial. In this study in Gonzaga, Cagayan, Philippines, snail habitats were surveyed, and the various factors affecting the existence of the snails were determined.
