Small renal masses (SRM), especially those under 7 cm pose significant diagnostic challenges when using conventional imaging (CT/MRI). PET/CT with [Zr]Zr-girentuximab offers a promising alternative in this setting by enabling molecular-level imaging. The ZIRCON trial, a phase 3 multicenter study, evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of [Zr]Zr-girentuximab PET/CT in detecting clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) in SRM.

The purpose of this systematic review was to evaluate the role of PSMA PET/CT in intermediate-risk prostate cancer (PCa) patients, to determine whether it could help improve treatment strategy and prognostic stratification. A systematic literature search up to May 2024 was conducted in the PubMed, Embase and Scopus databases. Articles with mixed risk patient populations, review articles, editorials, letters, comments, or case reports were excluded.

Aims: This study aimed to determine the effect of a multi-component mHealth intervention on patient activation and examine its predictors among older adults at risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD).

Methods And Results: This pilot randomized controlled trial compared two groups: Get FIT (control), who received healthy lifestyle counselling from a licensed health coach, a mHealth app (MyFitnessPal) with push alerts, and an activity tracker, and Get FIT + (intervention), who received the same interventions and had personalized text messages with 3- and 6-month follow-up periods. Patient activation was measured using the 13-item Patient Activation Measure; higher scores indicated better activation.

Article Synopsis
  • The study evaluated the effectiveness of radiolabeled-PSMA PET/CT for initial staging of intermediate-risk prostate cancer patients.
  • The analysis included 181 patients and found that PSMA PET/CT successfully detected primary lesions and showed a positive rate for nodes and distant organs, demonstrating high diagnostic accuracy.
  • The findings suggest that incorporating PSMA PET/CT in patient management can change treatment strategies in about 13% of cases, especially for those with unfavorable disease.
