The stability criterion based on the characterization of rock masses can be used to advance deep underground engineering projects. A key geomechanical criterion in geotechnical engineering is rock quality designation (RQD), which assesses risk for engineering design success criteria. Time, cost, and credibility constraints make it difficult to accurately estimate RQD.

Background: Heart failure (HF) guidelines recommend routine testing for iron deficiency (ID) and, for those with ID, intravenous iron if the left ventricular ejection fraction is <50%. Guideline adherence to these recommendations by cardiologists in China is unknown.

Methods And Results: An independent academic web-based survey was designed and distributed via social networks to cardiologists across China.

Silver nanoparticles(AgNPs)have been widely used in biomedicine and industry. Growing studies have shown that AgNPs can induce sperm motility decrease and spermiogenesis disorders. In this study, animal experiments were used to investigate the role of mitophagy and pyroptosis caused by AgNPs (25.

Objectives: To develop and validate the performance of CT-based radiomics models for predicting the prognosis of acute pancreatitis.

Methods: All 344 patients (51 ± 15 years, 171 men) in a first episode of acute pancreatitis (AP) were retrospectively enrolled and randomly divided into training (n = 206), validation (n = 69), and test (n = 69) sets with the ratio of 6:2:2. The patients were dichotomized into good and poor prognosis subgroups based on follow-up CT and clinical data.

Background: In the last decade, extensive research has emerged into understanding the impact of risk factors for Alzheimer's Disease (AD) on brain function in pre-symptomatic stages. Here, we focused on the apolipoprotein e4 (APOEe4) gene, the major genetic risk factor for sporadic AD, and its effect on brain function in early adulthood.

Method: In the first part of the study, we systematically reviewed the multimodal functional neuroimaging literature, exploring its relationship with cognition, and the potential effects of other variables including the demographics, other risk factors, and methodological and analytical choices.
