Aim: To assess the influence of root canal treatment on serum high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) levels in systemically healthy human adults.
Methodology: Fifteen individuals aged 20-40 years diagnosed with apical periodontitis [Periapical Index (PAI) score ≥3] who were otherwise healthy took part in this prospective interventional study. Patients with moderate to severe periodontitis, systemic diseases and traditional cardiac risk factors (hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidemia and smoking) were excluded.
The objective of this article is to highlight the importance of having a thorough knowledge about the root canal anatomy and the possible anatomical variations in maxillary second molar. This case report presents the endodontic management of the left maxillary second molar with four roots and four canals. A cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging was performed to ascertain this complex root canal anatomy.

These teeth have highly variable root canal morphology. Although three separate roots in the maxillary first premolars have been reported, it is a rarity to find both the first and second premolars possessing three separate roots.
