: Cardiomyopathy, including dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), is a major cause of heart failure (HF) and a leading indication for heart transplantation. Of these patients, 20-50% have a genetic cause, so understanding the genetic basis of cardiomyopathy will provide knowledge about the pathogenesis of the disease for diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and genetic counseling for families. : This study collected nine patients from different Vietnamese families for genetic analysis at The Cardiovascular Center, E Hospital, Hanoi, Vietnam.

Modified Kasai operation combined with autologous bone marrow mononuclear cell infusion for biliary atresia.

Aim: To evaluate the safety and outcomes of modified Kasai operation combined with autologous bone marrow mononuclear cell (BMMNC) infusion for biliary atresia (BA).

Methods: A matched control study was conducted between January 2015 and December 2021. Ten consecutive children with biliary atresia (BA) who underwent the modified Kasai operation combined with autologous BMMNC infusion (cell therapy group) and ten children who had only the modified Kasai operation (control group) were included in the study.

Current Congenital Heart Surgery and Pediatric Perfusion Practices in Japan and Vietnam.

The declining birth rate and aging population are becoming increasingly serious social issues in Japan. In this report, we summarize the current congenital heart surgery and pediatric perfusion practices in Japan and Vietnam. In addition we report the rapid growth and development of congenital heart surgery in Vietnam made possible by medical education support provided by Japan over the past decade.

Emerging Monkeypox Virus Sublineage C.1 Causing Community Transmission, Vietnam, 2023.

We studied a community cluster of 25 mpox cases in Vietnam caused by emerging monkeypox virus sublineage C.1 and imported into Vietnam through 2 independent events; 1 major cluster carried a novel APOBEC3-like mutation. Three patients died; all had advanced HIV co-infection.

Risk Factors and Profiles of Falls Among Inpatients in Vietnam: A Multicenter Nested Case-Control Study.

Purpose: Falls among inpatients represent a significant global health concern and are among the leading causes of accidental death. However, hospital falls are context- and population dependent. This study aimed to investigate the risk factors contributing to falls and the fall profiles among Vietnamese inpatients.
