Dengue Mimickers: Which Clinical Conditions Can Resemble Dengue Fever?

Epidemics and outbreaks caused by the dengue virus pose risks to populations and have high mortality rates, causing burdens and economic costs worldwide. Brazil recently experienced an explosive increase in the number of dengue cases and fatalities. Dengue is an acute febrile illness that can progress to severe forms.

The impact of COVID-19 mobility restrictions on dengue transmission in urban areas.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, governments have been forced to implement mobility restrictions to slow down the spread of SARS-CoV-2. These restrictions have also played a significant role in controlling the spread of other diseases, including those that do not require direct contact between individuals for transmission, such as dengue. In this study, we investigate the impact of human mobility on the dynamics of dengue transmission in a large metropolis.

Differentiation of Benign and Malignant Neck Neoplastic Lesions Using Diffusion-Weighted Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

The most difficult diagnostic challenge in neck imaging is the differentiation between benign and malignant neoplasms. The purpose of this work was to study the role of the ADC (apparent diffusion coefficient) value in discriminating benign from malignant neck neoplastic lesions. The study was conducted on 53 patients with different neck pathologies (35 malignant and 18 benign/inflammatory).

Cross-Cultural Adaptation and Validation of the Listening Inventory for Education-Revised in Italian.

Background: Listening difficulties may frequently occur in school settings, but so far there were no tools to identify them for both hearing and hearing-impaired Italian students. This study performed cross-cultural adaptation and validation of the Listening Inventory for Education-Revised for Italian students (LIFE-R-ITA).

Methods: The study procedure followed the stages suggested by the Guidelines for the Process of Cross-cultural Adaptation of Self-Report Measures.
