Background: Conventionally fractionated radiotherapy (CFRT) and hypofractionated radiotherapy (HFRT) are established treatments for intermediate-risk (IR) prostate cancer (PCa), with differing dose per fraction. Yet, their comparative patterns of failure remain unclear.

Objective: To analyze the distinct relapse patterns of HFRT versus CFRT in terms of local progression-free survival (LPFS), pelvic lymph node metastasis-free survival (pnMFS), extra-pelvic lymph node MFS (epnMFS), and bone MFS.

Children with ADHD experience more severe homework problems than typically developing peers.

Article Synopsis
  • Brain radiation necrosis (BRN) is a serious complication of stereotactic radiotherapy, making it crucial to differentiate it from tumor recurrence using advanced diagnostic techniques.
  • BRN often appears months to years after treatment, with symptoms and MRI changes, influenced by factors like the amount of brain tissue irradiated and radiation dose.
  • Management strategies vary; asymptomatic cases may require monitoring, while symptomatic BRN typically responds to corticosteroids, and emerging treatments like bevacizumab show promise; ongoing research aims to improve outcomes for patients.

This article reviews the characteristics to be taken into account in adolescent and young adult patients radiotherapy and more particularly in some of the most common diseases.
